Either you can make a steam cake using a cooker. Or for making it without oven you need to have two tavas, on which you make chapatis. Put the dough in a container and put on the tava at slow gas. Keep on tava to cover. In between keep changing the position of tavas. Lower one when heated will cover and the one which was used as cover will come down. That way we use to cook our cake without oven.

Do you have a crockpot? If not, you can get one very cheap (even at a yard sale.) You'll also need an empty, clean 2-pound coffee can.
Take two cups of chocolate cake mix, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, combine in a bowl and mix for two minutes.
Pour into the greased, floured coffee can. Set coffee can in crockpot. Cover can opening with 8 paper towels. Put lid on crockpot. Bake on high for two to three hours. You will be able to tell when the "cake" is done the same way you'd test an oven baked cake for doneness, by sliding a toothpick or cake tester into it and when it comes out clean, it's done. Don't open the lid until at least the two hours passes, because every time you do, you let out much of the heat.
I realize this makes an unusual shape of a cake, but cake is cake.
Same as with any other cake, let it cool completely, slide it carefully from the can and ice it when cool. (You could use a string to "cut" this into layers for a layer cake if you like.)
