Jesus once said: "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand in praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you sins" (Mark 11: 22-25).
"When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures" (James4:3).
Do you believe this?

Yes i so believe in prayer. Like the priest discussed in his homily, we should pray for what we need and not for what we want.

It's perfectly all right to pray for what you want, as long as it lines up with God's will for you.

your posted scripture aside...do I believe in prayer? for me no...but I believe that prayer does help those that do believe in it in one way or another. That doesnt mean that I believe that ppl who pray for things get what they ask for but I believe that their praying helps them on other levels..

i pray not for just asking but also for thanking. but my wife is different she prays for other people. example the rescue of the miners at chile she was praying for its success. when she sees people get hurt she lights a candle and pray for them. so she does not pray for her own intentions but the intentions for others. but i also believe that when you pray and you didnt receive it pray harder and in Gods time it will be granted but just make sure it is not a wrong motive.

Yes, I believe in prayer because one of the provision of God is to answer all prayer of their children. Note God answer prayer of his children if within the "WILL" of God meaning according to His will not our's. I experienced answered prayers - how about you? you did not expereinces? Try prayer from you heart.

yes i believe this. especially the verse, ''whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive it, and it will be yours.'' how many prayers are spoken while in your heart you don't believe it will be done. what a waste of time, yours and gods. when i was a young girl a wise man told me i can talk to god any time anywhere. that was an eye opener. now, 40 years later, the habit of just talking to god all through my day is like breathing. thank you for sharing these verses and shining a light.
