My first incident near death or accident was when i was crossing the street.I saw a bus heading my way and i thought to make a quick dash across the street but since my mind flickers a lot i hesitated but the got onto the road at the wrong timing and i saw it fast approaching towards me and i thought i was a goner and froze but then i dont know what came over and with a sudden impulse ran swiftly and after that i laughed it off.
So whats your experience and have you sustained any injuries?

When I was a little child I was playing on the beach and collecting my plastic shells(used to make shapes in sand) and a wave came and took them so being me I went to go get them back....alone. A wave came and swept me into the ocean but for some reason I tried to hold onto the shore which allowed me to waste time and my family saw me and came and rescued me before anything dangerous happened.

I have come across this and have sustained a laceration. It happened last year, February. I was below my block, at the exercising area where there are free equipments for people to use. Well, I don't know why suddenly I went to the leg exercising machine and did it the opposite way. Suddenly, when I came down from the machine, the two heavy steel pads used to put the legs on it, suddenly hit my legs one after another. I was feeling faint and I hopped to the nearby bench and sat. The next thing I knew was, I blacked out and woke up 5 minutes later, only to find that my glasses have injured the area near my eyes.

Last year at home my baby daughter was born. I had difficulty delivering the placenta that was inside me. The midwife did her best to get it out and when that happened it came out with four blood clots. Then I bled and managed to loose more than two and a half liters of blood. I felt very weak and kept shaking. I fainted a number of times. My body was in so much pain and I felt so weak that I couldn't stop fainting. Four more midwives arrived. They seemed very worried about me and they phoned for an ambulance. I got sent off to hospital in the ambulance. I went to the high dependency unit. I had all different medical staff coming to see me every fifteen minutes. My blood pressure was dangerously low. A consultant told me that I would probably die. I had a catheter fixed inside me. I could only lay down because if I sat up I fainted. I spent a horrible night there hearing screaming from the lady giving birth next door. The next day the catheter came out and I had to try to sit up slowly. Then I began walking over to the en-suite bathroom. I had a bath and then I fainted. As soon as I was strong enough I transferred to my local hospital an then my family came to visit. It took my months to recover from having so little iron after all that blood loss.

Some years ago I almost got hit by a bus. They were doing some construction work on the street where was I was riding my bike. There was only one lane because of the work that they were doing. I noticed a bus behind me and I decided leave the road and wait on the sidewalk so that the bus would be able to pass, but by mistake I hit the curb and ended on the street right in front of the bus. I thought that I was going to die at that moment, and I still don't understand how I managed to get away from the street a few seconds before the bus hit me, but I did. I got some brushes and my clothes were damaged, but that is nothing compared to the things that could have happened, and I extremely grateful for that.

I had a similar situation when I was crossing a very busy intersection and my mind was elsewhere, as I began to cross the street a woman screamed at me as a van was heading directly into me.
Since she screamed I reacted the wrong way by going further into traffic. The van put his brakes so hard and swerved to a stop. I was so freaked out that it shocked me thinking this van was going to flatten me to bits.
It was totally my fault and one lesson I learned to be more attentive while walking on the street. This happened about 3 months ago and it is still fresh on my mind.

The closest i ever got to dying was a couple of years ago when i went parachuting. I was still kind of a beginner and it was my first time doing it alone. I was still about 20 to 30 meters above the ground when a gust of wind came and the parachute got tangled up with some power cables (do not know much detail, i paniced and only took a quick glance up) and i droped about 8 to 9 meters onto the roof of a house. I woke up 7 months later in the hospital. I had broken my back (am not paralized), 3 ribs and an arm.
