Abhiroop has already suggested what global warming is...there are some gases in the atmosphere called "green house gases" like carbon dioxide, methane etc which trap the heat rays of the sun reflecting from the earth's surface. this phenomenon is similar to that in a glasshouse or a green house where glass also has the same property to trap heat, so finds use in very cold climates...and also u see this in a locked car in sun after sometime, when u get in it will be warm or hot depending on ur location...and as i was saying, normally the warming effect produced by these gases have a beneficial effect in rendering our planet the unique capability of sustaining life...and producing not the unpredictable swings in the temperature...
now coming to the problem of global warming...
when these gases are on the rise, as in increasing pollution (exhaust fumes of automobiles and industries contain high carbon dioxide and methane), or deforestation(plants are purifiers- they take carbon dioxide and give oxygen)...the Earth gets more warmer and warmer...and there will be extremes of temperature....
the future effects of global warming differ from scientist to scientist...the theories that presently hold good are...
there may be melting of polar ice caps, a rise in the sea level which would be enough to submerge many islands and costal areas, for eg...japan, a part of australia, newyork, and all the small islands....
the second...there may be extremes of temperature due to loss of the delicate balance in the temp. maintanence of the upper atmosphere...so, nights become more cold and days become more hot, or to say, summers will cause droughts, and rains flood many areas, and there will be famines everywhere, many living things can't tolerate such swings in the temp. and soon perish...
the third is exactly the opp. of global warming...in which the temp. wud escalate to a level when everything turns around...i ll explain u...first, there will be extremes of temp. as explained in the second theory but soon when the average temp. exceeds to that level when max. evaporation of water leads to max. rains and dwindling of temp.s to so low that the Earth can never pull up the temp. again, and the Earth enters the ice age.....once again all the life wud perish...
so, guys pls, try to reduce pollution in and around ur houses by simple means, at least by planting more trees wherever u can....can i get a + for this reply?...lol...:)

both poles - north pole
-south pole
are melting easily causing the waters to flood countryes and other natural dissasters!

increase of green house gases like carbon di oxide and others methen etc,in atmosphere causin da heat of sun rays stuck in air so temp of earth is increasin it is caiied global warming

global warming as far i know is occuring due to creation of ozone hole in atmosphere. day by day our earth is getting heated due to decrease of ozone and our two poles getting warming creating sea lvel to rise
