some of today's teenagers become difficult to live with and are really disrespectful...toawrds people on the street, towards people older than them and so on, and this it's not ok . it's a matter of education and it's mainly their parents fault, parents who give them everything they want at any cost. they don't appreciate the value of money and treat other people like they were goods...and the thing which pisses me off it's that they have an impertinence out of the ordinary.
so what do you think about the subject

When I was reading your discussion topic I could have sworn that we live in the same country. I checked your profile and surprise, surprise I had right. I know that it seems that many young people are disrespectful, but many of them are disrespecful with people who talk ugly with them. I always said that respect is something which a person has to earn, it is not a gift. Anyways, I always talk with respect with others, till the moment the other one starts to act different and in my opinion doesn't deserve my respect anymore. Then I will try to ignore those people, but if they push my buttons I will say them what I think. I don't care how old are they, if they are disrespectful towards me, I will be the same. But in most cases I ignore those people. I will never start to act or talk disrespectful with others, only after they started.

rappeter..surprise surprise yea we live in the same country :). I totally agree with you, respect it's earned, it's not a gift. but teachers for example, from my point of view should be respected without any question. I saw a few days ago something about a teacher who got a punch in the face from one of his students...it's this normal? it's this the country that we should be living in?

There does seem to be a lot of disrespect from teenagers to society in general. A think a lot of this attitude doesnt come from how they are taught at home. it comes from their views of the world. If they don't understand it, it is easier for them just to disrespect it instead.

Hello Swissheart. Yeah, I agree with you that plenty of teens today are disrespectful because I believe that they adopt the other culture in the western country that teens didn't respect their parents. And also , they are imitating the technologies today.

even the preteens that i work with are rude, and sometimes defiant. I have some that roll their eyes, which is probably my biggest pet peeve. I think that many of the parents were too young when they had the kid, and did not teach the manners needed.

you cannot imagine young people now a days, they are luck of respect and discipline. it`s pretty sad. they don`t value what their parents taught good things to be a better person.

Unfortunately for the folks who have to put up with it children have been taught by a permissive society that responsibility is not universal..meaning that because of misrepresented notions like FREEDOM and INDIVIDUALITY, they grow up believing that these things free them from RESPONSIBILTY, which appears to be quite foreign to them...And its far too easy to blame the parents across the board. There are good parents with bad kids! Because there are far more influences on them than their parents! And when all is said and done, regardless of where we point to put the blame, these teenagers are the result of what they chose to be. I've known of parents who disciplined their kids but still those kids were antisocial trouble. Its just too easy to blame the parents in a world where children are influenced by far more sources than any generation before them and who, through misinterpretation of FREEDOM and INDIVIDUALITY choose to be the (dangerous) brats that they are..
