I think that some teachers are far too strict. Granted, you have to be somewhat strict, but creating an atmosphere of fear is going too far to one extreme. It can go to the point where the children behave but they might be too afraid to ask questions and that could allow the learning to be stunted. Classrooms should be a place where the teacher is respected enough where children know that lines are not going to be crossed but at the same time, there has to be a somewhat relaxed atmosphere so questions can be asked without fear. What do you think?

Very well stated. We have to learn whatever we do somewhere and teachers keep the ball rolling. Therefore, if they allow us to respect, but not fear them, they will get everything on the right foot. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

They should be respected since there will be no engineers, lawyer, doctor or even other profession without them, they are the foundation of learning for childrens

Your example just proves that it can be done. Teachers do not need to be some kind of unapproachable monsters. They can in fact be nice. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I think the problem is that you can be strict. However, if one person goes overboard, then that could really stir up things. Still there is a time and a place for everything. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I absolutely agree with you. Being a student myself, i know how it must feel like to restrict yourself from asking questions because you were afraid it might be a stupid one and god knows what the teacher might say. I had such a lecturer last year who had such a nasty attitude that many of my classmates seem to have lost all respect for him as an authoritative figure. He was rude with the things he would say to our lecture mates and this made us really awkward towards him. Once, there was this guy who was late for class and being a lecturer, i think you could have found many other ways to be strict than passing rude remarks to your students right? Who does he think he is talking to? Army recruits? Thank god, i passed that module. haha. :D

I really think so too. Because there will be no learning if students feared their teachers. Teachers should not be abusive and strict because they will not only make students fear them. They will also make students dont want to go to their subjects at all. I had a teacher when I was in elementary she kicks students. Because they are misbehaving. It should not be like that. Instead of kicking she should talk to her students. She was fired because of that thing she does. Teachers should be lovable and nice but do not go too personal with a student. Limits should be emphasized so that she will be respected but not feared at all. There are also teacher which you think are nice but also bias to their students.

That is really bad. Teachers who are borderline abusive. Its obvious to see why so many people develop a negative attitude about school. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I agree with you that teachers should not create an atmosphere of fear in children. Though the children should have some fear for the teacher, it should not be as if the children always think of fear when haring that teacher's name. Rather he should create a comfortable atmosphere.

Of course the fear should not be paralyzing to the point where there are really no questions asked. That causes a lot of the problems. They should know that acting up is not something to be done, but there should be an atmosphere where questions can be asked. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

For me yes but if the teacher is too much strict then the student is fear to listen and to know about the lesson.

If the teachers provoke the students to be feared of they will be geared at and breed hatred. When the years pass by they will pay heavy price when the students of then and now bold adults will provoke them remembering the past.

Exactly, people who I fear are not people who I will really like. I am more accustomed to hate them and obviously, I am far from the minority in this case. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Teachers can be respected is not only depend on their knowledge, but also their character.
Now many teachers only take care that rich students, and require kinds of charges from students.
So they are more and more rich, but their education ablity are worse.
Maybe I will fear these teacher forever.

Those teachers really do cheapen the education process. Those out for getting paid, whether any joy for the job. Then again, that can be a problem in many careers. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

teachers are not supposed to behave that way.they should have a dedication to their profession.why do they teach?to help kids learn, not to terrorize them.in my years as a student, i never encounter such teachers who instill fear to their students.all of my teachers are helpful and understanding.and i respect them for that.

I think the vast majority of the teachers I dealt with were extremely helpful and approachable. However, there were a couple that were less so. Hopefully they become the exception, but its getting to the point where I think schools are being a bit less selective with their teacher selection process. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Well nowadays teachers are becoming more strict. Some teachers even crossed the line of being strict such as hurting their students already. That happens a lot these days. It is sad to hear that teachers became a fear to the students rather than being a model much respected in the school. It will not help the educational growth of the children rather increase the fear of school and eventually stopping from study.
I hate super strict teachers, "terror" as we call here in the Philippines. They don't understand the effect of their behavior to the child. A very irresponsible act.

Indeed being too strict really does have a really bad affect. It is just going to get worse as the students who might have gotten teachers like this could become teachers themselves and think that being this strict is the proper thing is to do. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
