I am watching '30 Days of Night' and I think it is one of the best vampire movies I have seen in a long time. It was made in 2007 and has Melissa George and Josh Hartnett in it as well as the little fat guy from Sons of Anarchy. I love a good vampire movie and must saythat if you like them too this is one to check out. Set in Alaska is during the 30 days of light and a colony of vampires. Have you seen it? If so, what do you think of it? Do you like vamp movies? Will you check it out?

It wasn't on AMC or TCM. It was on TVTV or KTRVD. Not sure which. Really odd movie.

hi celticeagle I have not seen that one and since my son loves
those vampire books of Anne whats her face maybe he would
take me to see one. I loved the Dracula and Frankenstein
ones.Senior moment I used to work in the library and knew
tons of authors names but now I cannot think of her last name.
Most of her stories were about vampires.

Hey Hatley, this one is unlike any vampire movie. They don't have alot of personality and all. More animalistic as I think is more realistic. Gorey and bloody but realistic. When you two get a place you should get Netflix.

Blood and gore is the main substance, that is for sure. I just felt that this one was more realistic and what I would truly expect a vampire to be like. Animalistic and horrific. It was great! Very realistic and I got off on it. I have always felt that the best film were the realistic ones, the ones that really take you away from reality and put you face down in the muck and meyer of the author's reality. THis one did. I don't care for the New Moon series. To me it isn't realistic. I don't think real vampires have personalities and ongoing fights with werewolves and all that. I think they are just like animals. And this one showed that.

I also like that vampire movie, so realistic and stuff...the ending was just so sad, but it was inevitable... SPOILER [if he didn't die then he would eat the others] I was really wondering if they would survive since the vamps were so many . It showed what vampires really are, scary, not at all pretty and elegant, just bloodthirsty hunters.
I love vampire movies, Dracula, Daybreakers, Dracula 2000 and the underworld series.
I think they are interesting creatures and many people have different interpretations of them. I hope there are still more good movies about them in the future.
Hey Josh Hartnett was also in a chick flick "40 Days and 40 Nights": Josh is a young man who vows to stay celibate but then he finds the girl of his dreams and can do nothing about it...just saying..

The best vampire movie i've watched is the land of the apes. It's a cool movie. The planet is infested with vampire apes who suck blood from people who visits their planet.

Yes I have seen this movie and it was a good one to watch. There is a sequel for this movie 30 Days Of Night-Dark.Days. I still have to watch this over the weekend. I like vampire movies but not the usual one which always bites and multiply. It like it with some twist in the story.

If you read my other responses you will see that I feel this movie is very realistic and the vamps in it act like what I think a real vamp would. Bloody and gorry yes, but what is to be expected in a vamp horror film. I wondered if there was a sequel. Thanks for that info.

Hi dear :)
Well, I love ALL movies, haha, vampire movies included. 30 Days of Night was definitely a good one, but I have to say that my favourite vampire movie is Dracula 2000. Have you seen it? It is seriously superb. I love the concept and thought it was so original. Much more original than anything else I've seen. Trust me, it's so worth a watch :)
