Do you get manhandled in buses and trains?

This is more relevant for ladies. How is the conveyance system there in your country? Do you feel comfortable while traveling in buses or trains? Or do you cautiously travel fearing that some men might reach out his hand to certain part of your body?

I had a bad experience about commuting a long time ago. Since I was young then, I was really afraid and don't know what to do. But now that I'm older, I think if the same situation would happen to me, I could have prevented it. Luckily and hope it doesn't happen again. Also to prevent untoward incidents like that from happening , I usually screen passengers I sit with and if I'm not comfortable, either I move to another seat of just get up and catch another ride. Luckily we have separate areas for men and women for our Mass Transit Ride, or else who would want to ride during rush hour time. :)

I am from India. And I hear of such stories from my female relatives and friends. I find it difficult to imagine that it could be happen in western countries too. Btw, I was wondering where you are from. Here in New Delhi we don't have buses that have separate areas for men and women; it's just not possible. But in metro train it's been introduced recently. How do you screen the passengers? This is an interesting point though!
