big difference...

read this somewhere..."there's a big difference between " who we love, who we settle for, and who we're meant for."
For me, who we love, are the ones we long for and wish to be with, but not necessarily we will end up with...who we settle for, are the ones whom we may not love, but are willing to be there for us no matter what...who we're meant for, are the ones we are destined to be with, whether it is our choice or not...right?

you practically nailed it! lucky are those who would have all three attributes in one person. i guess, we would all dream that somehow someday this would happen. until we reach that point in our lives wherein we accept and realize that this is something that doesn't happen everyday.

I don't really believe that. I don't believe that anyone should just settle. I believe that a relationship should be happy, loving, caring and fulfilling. If it isn't then it's not worth wasting your time on. Nor do I believe that there is necessarily a "destined" partner. You always have a choice.
Sometimes relationships don't work out but I don't think that in any way means you can't be with someone you love or that you have to just settle.

Very well said, Bokal. You have clearly stated their differences. These are the facts that make love so complicated and painful . Sometimes, it is not always a happy ending for all of us who seek love.
However, it maybe complicated but we always have a choice to be happy with love, don't we, Bokal?
Whoever wrote and created love to be this way must have a very good reason, ei....
