Walk into the fantasy section at your local bookstore. You'll find hundreds, I promise. Not all high fantasy (Fantasy that takes place completely in its own made-up world) has dwarves and elves in it but I'm sure you'll find loads of books that you love just as much as Lord of the Rings. Check out the Shannara series by Terry Brooks (There are dozens of books there... but start with "The Sword of Shannara") and the Dragons of Pern series by Anne McCaffery. Some of my favorite high-fantasies are The Chronicles of Icemark by Stuart Hill, The Auralia Thread by Jeffery Overstreet, The Legend of the Guardian-King by Karen Hancock, The Books of Pellinor by Alison Croggon, The Dragon Keeper Chronicles by Donita K. Paul, and The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle.

I would suggest the Legend of the Seeker Series.

If you mean the book series based on the TV series Legend of the Seeker, the book series for that is called "The Sword of Truth" by Terry Goodkind.

You should read the hobbit from tolkien. Its events take place before lotr. I can even say I enjoyed it a little more than lotr! It will also help you picture the middle earth a little better, and you will notice many connections with lotr that you will enjoy. How come you haven't read it yet..weird :)

try "The Iron Tower" trilogy by Dennis L. McKiernan
