Learn Romanian - lesson 1 - Pronunciation

I already have a request from a user who wants to learn Romanian. I hope there may be another users eager to learn a new language. So I'll start with the basics: Pronounciation. Sounds in Romanian very rarely differ between words (i.e. the letter e is always pronounced the same, unlike in English). Let's see the vowels first: A - pronounced as o in English word son E - pronounced as e in English word set I - pronounced as y in English word party O - pronounced as o in English word not U - pronounced as ou in English word you A - pronounced as er in English word better Â,Î - pronounced as i in English word girl C - as c in copy CI - as chi in chief CE - as che in chest CHI - as the word key CHE - as che in chemistry G - as g in girl GE - as ge in gender GI - as gi in ginger GHE - as ge in together GHI - as gee in geese J - as ge in garage S - as s in sugar T - as ts in its

That is pretty cool! My oldest sisters boyfriend moved here from Romania quiet a few years ago and now my sister is slowly starting to learn phrases and words in Romanian. It is an interesting language!
