What is true?

Truth is something we accept. Truth is something we like to have. Many people claim that their religion is the true religion. Truth exists in our perception. We like to classify things as truth when we are convinced or there is a study done to things that will confirm that it is true. When something is called true would you automatically accept it as truth? Most people would think then decide, some just conforms and accepts it, some don't care. Why do you seek the truth when the truth is up to you to decide? So is it not true until you satisfy your mind that something is true? I like double whopper from BK.

Hi Gorilla, Well, my father pushed my brothers and I to question everything...including him. He was a very respected teacher and he taught his students to do the same. Sometimes he would randomly throw in something he knew full well wrong just to see if any of his students would challenge him. I've never blindly believed anything just because someone else says it's so. That includes religion. If someones only proof is a bible that they can quote then that just won't work for me. I'm not saying that it is not true either...only that it may or may not be. If I don't have proof that it isn't true then my mind is just open to possibilities.

No he didn't mean it like that. What he meant was that he would always tell me the truth to the best of his ability but he is human and not above being wrong. When it came to religion, we were taught his views and we were raised in the Catholic church. It was ok to question it and to explore other paths etc. Teachers teach us what they know and later we might find reason to believe their facts were not so factual. Basically the message my dad was saying is that it is good to question

According to my Logic teacher, Truth is relative. What is true to you may be different to other people. Truth has a lot of sides and that what makes this world complicated. If I have proven it to be true, that is the only rime that I will consider it factual. Unless it is not yet proven, that information is still hanging or false on my part. It can also be something that has been experienced and was proven true by the people that I trust like my mom, my best friend and some smart friends. About the Double Whooper, hahahaha, it is indeed delicious. How often do you eat in Burger King in a day? In my case, I like DQ. Blizzard baby, blizzard. Yummy. :)

Your teacher and I have similar ideas. I rarely go there now because I'm broke right now and can barely pay for gas and I'm unemployed at the moment.

Truth is something we have to believe in. It helps us to decide what is right or wrong. Knowing what is deceit and what is true can be the deciding factor in how we live our lives.

Truth is not something we see or hear. It's something we should believe in. Eyes is not the most useful way of determining the true because eyes can lie. When we really want the truth from things, we have to look at it in a logical manner, think about the consequences that comes with the action and the motive before the act. It's only by linking this two together, then we get the truth we want and believe in.

Oh,this is a truly philosophical and logical question, even a psychological one.Truth is generally one that is tangible. That is you can see, touch, smell etc.But one can ensure whether a certain incident has taken place or not, using logical deduction and psychological testing of those involved, though one is not privy to that incident. Thus Truth is complex. For example in a Court Of Law,Logic and actual proof is the ones that matter. But these do not bring out the ACTUAL Truth.

It is confusing at times. I'll just stick to mine for now until someone makes me realize I'm wrong.

I prefer Angus burgers at McDonalds. Your truth is a very personal thing and it can and usually differs from others. Every religion is a True religion to someone! I Have to hear what is said and then I'll make up my own mind thank you.I know I won't take accept Anything if you tell me Accept this or else. I will say no thank you ans walk away.

Many people do accept, and perceive truth, and many people claim it as their own. But few people will accept that Truth is not Static. Truth changes with time! Things that are true today, may not be true tomorrow. It is true that you may love your wife when you marry her, and then a few years later, fall out of love and divorce her. This truth changed in just a few short years. Everything changes including the truth. Imagine how the truth of religion has changed in 2000 years? Is there any truth left in it at all?

The truth is the thing that comes out of lies and pushes them all down, it's one big lie. There are only facts.

What is true for one person is not true for another person. So it is all in what a person beleives.
