I've been going through a rough time lately and there is no secret at all about that. However, my children have been the light at the end of the tunnel for me.
So, I would love to hear some stories of how your children have made you smile in the past month or so.
I'll start with a story about Paul. We took his crib, which we'd been using as a toddler bed back to Target last week because I learned that it had been added to the recall list. So, the following evening when I told him it was time for bed, he responded with "I don't have a bed no more, Mommy took it back to Wal-Greens and now I have to sleep on the floor."
We actually took it to Target and he has a mattress and boxspring on the floor for right now until we are able to find the bedrails for his twin bed.
So what about you, what funny things have your children said or done recently that you'd like to share.

Yesterday My GS in Doha called his uncle in the U.K. using his mother's phone and he knew the number for speed dial. Cieran is exactly 4 years and six months. My son was surprised and asked him what was the matter. The conversation went something like this'
GS: I cannot take it anymore, I have had enough
Uncle: What is wrong?
GS: I go to school all day and behave myself and when I come home Mummy is always asking me to do things and I just want to be left alone for a while. I really can't take it anymore. Mummy wants me to change my clothes and bathe and do my homework and it is all too much. I want to play with my cars before I talk to Daddy.
So my son asks to speak to his mother and he reluctantly tells her to talk quickly as he wants to arrange to fly to London and live with is uncle until his Daddy comes at Christmas and then he will fly back with his Daddy to Doha (Middle East)
DIK is shocked but realised that she cannot treat them any longer as the
twins' he is a separate individual and needs time to chill out when he comes home from school.
So we all panicked and set up skype and he looked at us all hovering and talking to him and said. I can;t take this either. I will speak to you one at a time and Daddy is first. So we all moved so he could speak to his Dad
I have cut the story short but it shows how much they think. DIL felt so badly but we told her we loved her but she was not to rush him again as he cannot take it.
Well, my son tld her. I thought it but kept my mouth closed.Blessings

Last night when I told Naomi she was getting a reward for cleaning up the milk that Cary and Dearra spilled, she asked what it was. Ipod? No. X-box? No. Laptop? No. It just got more and more expensive every time she opened her mouth. I think I'll take her to the cupcake store. lol

HI,
Sometimes I do feel my son started to get naughty,
in order to get my attention. I was busy with something else,
and he was boring,so he will do something just to catch my
attention.
Last time, I always have difficulty to get my son to shower,
he will give me lot of excuses and I won't never entertain his excuses.
I will have to be firm and sometimes I even need to use more
rough technique just to get it done. No choice, but of course, I never
to beat him up. But need few scolding, then he will walk to the bathroom.
But when I saw his sad face, I feel sad too and then I smile to him
back and he started to smile back to me. At last, I have to hug him because
I really love him and he is just my little sunshine which cheer up my days.

Just yesterday, when I got home from work, my 4-year old was eagerly waiting on the steps for me. As it turns out, they made some paper puppets at pre-school that day and he learned the story of 'The 3 Little Pigs'. He couldn't wait to tell me the story using his puppets.
It was great, and certainly made my day!

My daughter, even though she is just 3 yrs old, comes to me when I am down or when I am in tears and says that she will beat up the person who made me cry. Oh god, when she says that, I feel so much better. And when she sees me using old and faded or worn out stuff, she tells me that she will buy a new one in some colour she likes. That makes my heart swell. Such a small girl and such a big heart. And I know all kids would do that for the people they love.

yes sometimes kids speak so innocently that we cant stop smiling or even laughing...recently my hubby's co-worker in politics came to our house and while going she asked my kids to visit their family...and then she asked straight way to my son....so when you will come?...he replied very silently...how can i tell this?...my mom can only tell when we are going to visit you...
we both were laughing and she appreciated his answer saying that see...how true he speaks and no turns in his answer..yes child are like that..very straight forward sometimes..but they beat the elders

dorannmwin hi oh my my only baby hehe is now 51 unbelievable
and I still remember all the funny things he did though . He was 11
months old and I heard my husband swear and wondered why he would'swear at a little baby. then I heard him really laugh. I came into the doorway and saw my little son sitting with a screwdriver in one hand saying, No more playpen mommy and giggling. He had taken all four sides down screw by screw. so that much effort deserved a reward. I took him into the kitchen where he loved to play with the pots and pans while I cooked
lunch. The playpen then was put together as I was expecting his sister. She loved to play in it but I will never forget how he took it all apart very carefully. No more play pen.Mommy.,

This happened a long time ago when my son was about 6. He had gotten an action figure type of toy from some fast food restaurant. It was a girl action figure that would turn color in the water. Anyway after we had gotten home we realized that son was not in the living room with us and was kind of quiet so husband yelled for him to come here and he said "Not now Dad I'm playing with my woman". It just sounded really funny at the time.
But yes our kids can make us smile and realize that things are not always so bad after all.

There is so much that a child can do to brighten your life. the things that they can do and say can make you smile at the world even if you don't ant to. If we could all take a hint from a child and see it with their eyes, life could be enriched for everyone.

That is indeed true, because even how tired we are from work in just one kiss and hug from our son. Everything will go away. He's our clown, because he is the first grandson of the family in my side. At the age of 3 he's very talkative. He wants to know everything he saw. Cute!!

My 5 year old son was saying his prayers one night last week and he prayed for his friends and his family and then he peeked real quick at the tv that his 2 year old sister was watching in the other room and he said "And please help the wonder pets to save the raccoon, Amen." LOL.

My daughter makes me smile always even though i am having a hard time through the years. I am a single mother and all I right now is work and even my daughter is 10 years old she make my every day life happy. Like i remember one time when she was still younger, I was so tried of all the chores in the home and it is time for her bath, I was grumpy mode when all of a sudden my daughter says, I'm sorry mommy and i love you. i just hug her and kiss her and I told her with a smiling face that i love her so much and nothing to say sorry about. she hug me back and being tried paid away suddenly ;)

Yeah, I do agree with you that kids really always make us laugh or smile, they just cheer us up always. Whenever there's a young kid at home, we can always hear the laughters, they are just so cute and innocent.
My son is going to be 20 months old, and he's learning how to speak now. Whenever we teach him some words, he'll follow, the way he pronounces is cute and funny. Also, he likes to follow whatever we do. My dog's name is "Labby", he always pronounces as "La-hmm". Sometimes when my dog is too naughty, we'll say "Labby, No!" So, whenever my dog is naughty, he'll call "La-hmm, No", even with the finger showing the sign "NO", as how we do always. There are more, as he always makes us laugh.
I'd really love to be with him all the time.

Last night actually. My 2 year old took a late nap.. at like 6pm! I learned a long time ago not to wake him up from a nap though.. he's miserable and inconsolable. So I let him sleep. Of course I knew that meant he'd be up all night. So 8:30ish after all the other kids are in bed, I'm sitting on the sofa watching Dancing with the Stars when hubby comes in. Normally I sit at one end of the sofa, hubby at the other, and in between us is our ashtray and cigs and snacks etc. Well.. in his spot was the 2 year old. Hubby goes to him and asks if he wants to go to sleep. The baby is sitting there with a baby doll in his lap, folds his arms and says "Nope, I'm not going to sleep anymore. I'm staying awake to watch TV." He then proceeds to tell us how the baby has to watch TV as well. He refused to move from hubby's spot, and actually tried to tell hubby to sit on the floor! He stayed up until 10pm, not moving from hubby's spot! It was just too cute.

cute. well mine are grown but they still say things to make me smile. and they did keep me laughing when they were little. i had 2 that were pure clowns whether they meant to be or not. my one daughter when she was 4yrs, got her head stuck in a chair back, you know one of those old fashioned ones with slats in back? i didnt want to laugh and i was very concerned about having to call the fire department. but i couldnt help it. the older kids made it funny, asking her how come she could push it through but not get it out and she said, my ears wont let me, they hurt. my oldest son who was 12 yrs then worked with her ears etc. to get her out. hes the one i live with now and shes in her 30's so when she calls sometimes we go over some of those many silly things she did. And hes the other one that comes up with the funniest stuff sometimes. everythings a joke with him. keeps me laughing still.

My son has recently become a huge fan of wrestling he calls them the strong men. His favorite is The Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and of course how can we forget John Cena. He is only 4 years old so every day he asks what's today because he knows that every Monday is wrestling. We don't let him watch it sometimes because it's a bit violent, so on the nights we don't put it on he'll find every excuse possible to stay in our room because he knows we do see it. But he is so cute just listening to the ecxuses and when you tell him no he goes with this adorable face and look But Mom that if your angry I can guarantee you you won't be anymore.
