What method do you try to use to keep yourself awake

So, what if coffee doesn't help you at all at the time you were at work. You were so sleepy, and your eyes simply want to shut off, and you have to make them open. You have to fought yourself within, and keep yourself awake. But you just so sleepy and all you need just 20 minutes of nap, you might refresh yourself a little. Then you can wait until break time to get some rest before you can go back to work again. Have this happened to you before? It did happen to me sometimes, when I didn't have good night sleep or I just didn't sleep enough. There is no best method to help me out, I simply have to stand up, and try to lifting something, or keep myself walk around, so I won't closed my eyes. Sometimes, I even have to go to bathroom to water my face, but not help much longer though.

You can try smelling coffee or scots pine oil. Smelling Eucalyptus blue gum helps to stake awake as well. If i wish you can wash your face with ice cold water. A study showed that smelling pepper mint makes you more alert. Use chewing gums flavoured with pepper mint.

well, that may help him wake up for like 2 minutes then he'll want to sleep again .

the best thing i think is to eat , just eat anything , that shall speed your heart beating rate , wake you up , give you energy, of course make sure you eat a low calorie snack , fruits may be , you don't want to gain weight after all

This happens to me a lot of times, as a matter of fact, I think I have been experiencing lack of sleep for almost a month now. It's really hard to keep myself awake especially when I only had less than 3 hours of sleep everyday and I had to perk up and be at work in front of the computer at 4:50 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon. I just try to have an extra strong coffee to keep my eyes from shutting off, which, I found out, doesn't work all the time. Other than coffee, I try to eat something sweet like chocolate (dark chocolate, as much as possible, because it's healthier). I don't like splashing my face with water because that would make me re-do my make-up. And yes, putting on make-up helps in keeping myself awake, too. ^___^

First, I'd tell my doctor I was having problems sleeping at night and it was affecting my job.

I add a few drops of lemon juice to my coffee. I have no idea if it's real or just my imagination, but it does the trick every time, one cup of coffee with lemon is enough to keep me going for 2-3 hours more. I rarely use this method, because I can feel how it makes my heartbeat go crazy, but sometimes I have to, just to get through the day. One other thing that wakes me up is a good piece of office gossip :)
