Would you rather read a paper book or are you an e-reader person?

I'm very much a computer person and embrace a lot of new technology. However, I am having a hard time with the thoughts of giving up my paper books for an e-reader. I love the feel of a book in my hands and the words on the paper are so much nicer to read than they are on a screen when you're trying to relax. I know that books will be around for a while yet, but I imagine someday they will be a thing of the past. Especially since I've heard that they cost less to produce. How do you feel about this?

I feel the same as you. I like new technology, but I don't think I'll be switching to an eReader anytime soon. I like the feel of the paperbooks and even the way books smell lol. I get that someone who travels a lot it might be nice because you could pack a whole bunch of books into your ereader and take up a lot less space than physical books, but for me it just isn't practical.

I prefer real books. In fact, I just can't stand e-books. I don't like the idea of my collection of real paper books being reduced to files on a hard-drive. The very idea makes me shudder and want to hug my bookshelf! I just don't get the same joy out of reading an e-book. Will there come a day when paper books are obsolete and we're all forced to upgrade to e-books? Maybe. But I'm going to fight it.

Reading paper book is still more relaxing than reading from an e-reader. Like you I also love the feel of a book in my hands and reading the words on the paper is more relaxing than reading them on screen. Also I would like to lie down or lie on reclined chair while reading a book. No matter how lite an e-reader could be... I don't think it would be as comfortable reading it this way as paper book.

Actually, I prefer reading on paper. Reading on screen tiring my eyes. Although sometimes the book I want to read does not published on paper. For that reason, I forcedly read the e-book one. Not really pleasing, but quiet OK for me. Reading is always OK for me whatever the media is.

I have the same feeling that you have mentioned towards books. I need to have that touch of paper to be able to really get into what I am reading especially if its a novel or any other books of the kind. Then again, I don't have problems reading newspapers online because I find it easier to read news online than in the papers. It is more organized.

I would rather read a e-book because i think they are more easy to read and as well as cheaper. I usually read on my ipod, application called Kobo. The books are way cheaper than paperbooks or hard covered books. You can slide them. The another reason i like ebook is that they are not going to get lost, or folded and nothing is going to happen to them, also you can easily take them anywehre!

It will probably be a sort of "natural evolution", from paper books to e-books. Sure, a book is still more confortable to read, especially because we're most accustomed to it, but in the future e-books will spread more and more and we'll read them with the same delight we now read a book made of paper. After all, e-books offer many advantage: less expensive to produce and to buy, take far lesser space, and so on... Main problem with e-books is that they still tend to wear out your eyes... as well as any kind of screen, for now.
