i have a nephew named ace. he is almost two years old. he is sweet and sometimes funny. he is also very observant of his surroundings. he loves it when my mom takes him to malls, there he would play and occasionally window shop like a grown up. he would come home bringing toys or a snack, his favorite is jelly. he seems to be healthy, he is even big for his age. but he has G6PD deficiency, a kind of inborn illness that affects the blood. it may turn into severe anemia or even leukemia if we're not careful in what we give him as food and medicine. in his barely two years of age, he has come in and out of the hospital. it really breaks my heart when i just got home and i will see him having difficulty breathing because of asthma. is it a complication of his illness? we cannot exposed him to extreme weather conditions because he had a weak immune system, and we cannot just give him vitamins because of his illness.we are in a very serious situation. sometimes i ask my self why he has to suffer this way?he is only a baby.
