With my 50 years of existence here on earth, I can safely say that everything that is happening to us is because we planned and worked for it. When I young I used to think that there is destiny but now I am concluding that there is none because life is what we make it to be. I have seen a lot of who have succeed in life it's all because they worked hard for it.How about you guys? Do you believe in this?

hello doray1960!
i believe that life is what we make it. On the other hand, i also believe in destiny. You see, it's like this. When we are born, or even before that, we already have a pre-destined path for us. It's like a road map of our life, influenced by our genes, culture, family, background and all other factors. Now, as we grow, most of us, carve their own life-path, so to speak. They break free from the bondage of the life destined for them.
what's my basis for these? well, let's look at the story of a lot of famous people in the history of our world. some of them were born poor to poor parents, with some birth defects even and the odds were so against them, nobody really expected them to become great leaders, wealthy businessmen and all that. But they beat the odds, the rose from their destined life, the made and carve a niche of their own in this world, much much different from what was destined for them. There are also stories of the opposite situation wherein people born of very wealthy and affluent parents, have ended up as beggars, as nothing more than puppets because they had let the knowledge of their own destiny control their life. they had taken for granted everything else, because they believe that there's no need for them to even lift a finger since they are destined to become rich, it is in their road map, their fate..

Of course life is what we make it but destiny most definitly plays a part. There are just to many things that happen by "chance" not to be destiny. I know there have been many times when an unexpected thing has happened the comment has been made that it must be destiny. An example is think of a time you were somewhere other than where you planned or thought you would be and you have found, bought, lost something, or have met someone that would not have happened if you had been elsewhere. Something to think about.

There's a saying --- "Destiny is not a matter of chance but a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waiter for, it is a thing to be achieved".
Life is what we make it. If you have an objective in life, you can reach it as long as you work hard and make a way to reach your goal the best that you can. We could not be successful, if we do nothing at all.

I believe in destiny in just 30% because as far as i know destiny is just a part of 2 person who's searching for each others. Many wants to have their own destiny but me i think it will not happen anymore.

Dear Doray ! I am also 50 now! I fully agree with you that our palnning works for us and we can make things to happen the way we want. I am a technical person involved with horse breeding.I am a senior Vet working with one of th reputed farms in India. being a technical man we have logics and explanations for every thing. The things they occur a per the logic within the lmits of science! The thing which is thrown up has to come down because of gravity. That's true. Here things are happening as per our wish or will.
But there are certain things where we have no control. Like, as I mentioned I am in the racing industry, here many a times the favorite horse which was to win the race with great ease, wouldn't come out of the gate, it is because of the temperament of the horse which results into a big upset in the race and performance of the horse and farm. Here nothing is there in our hands, then I call such things as Destiny.
Accidents, natural calamities etyc aren't they be attributed to Destiny? Thus I simply don't sit and shun the routine work in the name of fate and destiny, but I certainly believe that crtain things are destined in aparticular way to occur in this nature!
Thanks ! Good and thought provoking topic of discussion! I liked it!

I do believe in destiny. i like to believe that we are in charge of our own destiny. Life leads us along the way and guides our path. yet, it is up to us what we do make our destiny what we want it to be.

I believe in destiny, doray1960, its simply because , I had many things that worked so hard for, I ve done all the efforts, pushed myself into the limits, struggle and combat all the hindrances just for me to get them, but still, I can't.
One example of what im saying is that, when i was younger than my age right now, I used to dream of working in a cruise liner because of the fact that I could earn well in dollars and I could travel the world free at the same time. I do all the requirements and worked so hard to get the necessary work requirements it required, I applied in different agencies but ended up having a husband and a baby. Other applicants, just try their luck applying, some of them didn't have much experience while others was simply invited by their friends to join us in applying for the work, but then, they got hired. Isn't it destiny? I ve done all what you could imagine just to get the job, others didn't ask for it and just join with their friends applying there, but in an instant, they got the job without much effort. That's only one example and I have lots of them, That's what make me conclude that life is destiny, because no one likes to be poor, others had different jobs and do all the hard work just to uplift their lives but they remained average. Others, though though they exert less effort, was given so much luck and opportunities that make them highly successful. Good night!

Yes,i believe on you that there is no destiny in this world. How we work and see the life is how we end up in the future.Sometimes i envy those rich people because they dont need to suffer all the bad things in life but somehow i know that every person has their own definition of life and destiny.

To your question, I say yes and no. No because life is what we make it to be. It is our choices and our actions that make our lives what it is. However, it is a yes because sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we just end up failing. People might say it wasn't our best, but what if that was our best and it wasn't enough? If that is all we can do, we cannot push ourselves beyond the limit of what we can.

You are absolutely true, no person not even god can define our destiny its only us who can make our destiny.Despite being 50 years old you can still discover happiness in whatever you do many of us might feel it would have been easier if our parents had thought us this when we entered earth but its still not too late,i hope me and all of you will succeed shaping your own destiny.
