Every one faces the problem of choosing an occupation after graduation from college or university, which plays a vital role in our lives. An appropriate occupation makes a man work with zest and vigor; as well as contributes to our country. To make a wise choice, I think two important things should be takes into consideration. One is the interest; while the other is the demands of people and society. What's your opinion on this topic?

Yes, face with the fierce competition, we will feel difficult to find a good job. But don't worry too much about it, you should make a target and improve your skills as well as possible. If you can do well of these things. I believe that you can find a good job in the future. Good luck!

yes i am able to get a appropriate occupation after graduation but it is my heartily desire to complete my post graduation first and then to go for a job because you can get a higher pay scale after post graduation and a higher rank in the company .

Yes dear xtmlove, I fully agree with you. It is important for an individual to select a proper career after graduation, especially if he/she did the ame in general broad subjects like Science, Commerce or Arts. There are many openings for such candidates and it becomes very important to select the one which suits him/her.Here one has to careful because age bar is also a factor, that's why one can't really have time to wait for too long to get a job of one's choice! So during this time of cut throat competitions many a candidates they compromise somewhere or other any join any available job with fairly good earnings. I think after doing so one can take interest in his job and perform one's duties deligently and sincerely so that further prospects in the same career be opened to him/her in the form of promotions. Another thing after gradualtion some specialised courses / Diplomas can be attained to enter into a particular type of profession of one's interest. Now a days with the development of IT there are many avenues open for such candidates. For me,now I am 51 and fortunately I am a postgraduate Veterinary Surgeon so I never faced any difficulty in choosing the career as I had a fixed type of duties to perform. Oh yes here also few friends of mine have opted for some white collar jobs like becoming Professors in College, becoming managers in Pahrmaceutical Companie, Insurance Companies, Banks etc, becoming consultant to various companies etc. But for me I had a clear cut target that I wanted to work for a Stud farm and today I am senior Vet at one of the reputed Stud farms in India. Thanks for initiating such a constructive and interesting topic of discussion! Wish you all the best! Thanks !

Absolutely once graduating a student should completely concentrate on obtaining a career directly related to the field of their studies. If only I would have had this same feeling back in the day. HA! Unfortunately I have matured as I grew older.

Yeah, you are right about that. There should be interest in the job you chose. For me I can say that I'm ready to face the new challenge of my life after my graduation. I'm so excited to find a job and start making my goals again. I just finished the goal that I've been working hard for and now is new chapter of my life that I'm so excited about.

Not actually, if you are still not sure of what line you want to go for. Moreover after choosing a particular subject in graduation you scope to change field becomes more limited.

i have graduated for several years , and in real society ,it is crucial ,and maybe sometimes you can not find a job with little relation to your specialty ,at least ,in china ,i think it is ,now the competition is very big ,sometimes you have to find a temproary job to make a living ,just gain experiences .only remember in real society it is very very different from in school ,you must learn to accommodate these situations

I am getting ready to graduate and I have yet to prepare myself for entering the workforce. I do not even know to which companies I want to apply. Location wise I think I want to stay in the Los Angeles area just because I know the most people there. I think I will probably enter the biotech industry since I am getting my degree in biological sciences. I'm worried there aren't going to be enough jobs though and that I will be unemployed after college. I do not know how I will pick my job. Hopefully I will have more than one job offer. Then I could look at the benefits they provide and pick based on that or based on location.

In my opinion, finishing your "desired" degree is the most crucial part wherein your future lies. I heard tons of stories wherein they did not get the chance to decide for themselves as to what course they should take because of the pressure being placed on them by their family. The result is (though I am not generalizing all), they can't seem to find the work that suits their passion, talent and interest. It will not always be about the money because later on you'll just find yourself bored, hopeless and unmotivated to move to the next level. There's nothing more fulfilling than to love and enjoy what you're doing each of the day instead of having to force yourself get into the office with all the pain, agony and misery to earn you living.
