Yesterday I read a survey among 2600 students on this topic. The survey shows that 57 percent of the students who are in favor of the restriction, they believe that students developing healthy and civilized habits can help devote themselves to study. However, some hold a different idea that the restriction will limit students' personality development greatly, making up 33 percent of them. In addition, 10 percent of the students still think that if the appearance looks beautiful and satisfies the common aesthetic standard, what styles make no difference. What's your opinion on this topic?

Are you talking about uniforms? Or about other things, such as not allowed to dye hair, or not allowed to dye colours like blue and green, or expecting boys to keep facial hair trimmed, etc?

Yes, I want to say no only about uniforms, but also about the things like dye hair and so on. Some schools forbid their students to do these things.

Well, I am not a fan of uniforms myself, but wearing a uniform and foster school spirit and make people feel like they are part of a team. Also, sometimes children are teased or bullied because they don't wear the latest fashions, which their parents can't afford. If everyone has to wear the same thing, no one can make fun of your clothes. But, when you grow up, you have to look professional to get a job. Childhood is supposed to be about having fun. If you can't dye your hair green when you're a teenager, when can you? Having a little fun and expressing yourself while you can is a positive thing.

It is my personal opinion that all schools at least elementary and high schools should have a uniform code. Students while in school are preparing for future carerrs and some are really outrageous with their attire preferences. For instance the grunge look, I understand it is a freedom of expression but school is not to be used to express your style, it is a place where a student is attending and should not attend looking so sloppy as this is perhaps how they will further appear in future jobs. No one has to be rich with fancy clothing but really some female students today dress like they are going to nightclubs instead of school. It is a distraction and well why spend so much effort looking hot when they should be applying themselves in studying. Parents sometimes are upset on how their children dress but then they are the ones buying the clothing. As long as a student is clean and neat there should be no appearance factor concentration.

I think restricting a student's appearance is a good idea.while it inhibits self expression, some students express themselves too much.wearing a sexy dress is appropriate on parties, but not on campuses.wearing too much make-up also is not nice.a simple look for school is still the best way to go.too much self-expression can be inappropriate for school.
