Adjusting back to Mylot.

October 20, 2010 10:42am CST
I've been away for far too long, I was once an established part of this community or at least I felt that way. The amount of people I honestly felt I could call friends kept me here and even whilst being away I missed the people I got to know. This is pretty much the reason for my return, well that and the fact I have more time. My children are slightly older and less demanding now, while my work doesn't exactly take too much of my time either. Adjusting back to Mylot seems to be quite hard, I've noticed a lack of people responding to what I say. This was never the case previous and although it could be me choosing the one discussions it's a shame. Still having said that I'm having good fun and I've dearly missed this place. It will be nice to re-establish my friends here and make new ones. My question to you is; Have you left mylot and come back feeling it's different than what you recall and how do you go about interacting with those who respond to your discussions. Hope everyone's well. :)

Well a very warm re-welcome back to you joey to myLot. This is my fifth month with myLot so I have not left the site yet. I understand your feelings about being away and returning to a difference of scenario. But like in off-line acquaintances, once away for too long people tend to have other interests. Once you begin to interact and join in people re-warm up to your friendship. It is a bit different with a discussion forum as after your departure and then return you may find that members are no longer active therefore, they are just not here to discuss alongside you. Also as you can view by many of the members here friends increase on a daily basis and well they may just not remember you from back when you were last active. So a little refresher would do some good. Me I do not reject anyone on the site, so I would be happy to discuss with you on your posts and vice verse. myLot is a great community, as long as the members continue to follow the guidelines. Welcome back and have a wonderful myLotting experience.

Hello Hardworkinggurl. You're living up to your reputation! One thing I noticed since my return is that you have a huge amount of respect around mylot. That's one of the warmest things about this site as you said, people here tend to stick with each other and enjoy sharing views/friendship etc. 5 Months, I would never of guessed this by your post count and the respect I previously mentioned. Thanks for welcoming me back! When I've posted this I'm going to request your friendship here, I always keep a closer eye on friends. I look forward to getting to know you and interact around the site.

Hiya Joey! Firstly welcome back, and secondly thanks for your friend request which you saw I accepted, to be honest I am not on this site as much as I used to be. Certainly during the Summer months I 'disappear' and 'hibernate' I will respond to a few discussions but that's it. In all honesty it doesn't hold the same appeal as it used to. I am more active as well now, getting out more and I'm still working hard at the gym, more so in the Winter months. Anyway thought I'd respond. Take care my friend and once again welcome back ;0) Wolfie

Thanks Wolfie! As you could tell you was one of the friends I quickly came to look to see what was new. (I thought that would be the reason) Requested it on the off chance that you might still be active around here somewhat. How are you? It's good to hear you're getting out and about more! I started doing it myself, well not going to the gym but going out and about. :) It's nice to see you!

WELCOME BACK!!!!!! Ole Buddy, Ole Pal, How the heck have you been. It sure is nice seeing you. You have been missed. As you can see I never left for more then a few days here and there. I am stuck with mylot, gotta keep up with my friends. I do get busy with life and sometimes am not on much. I keep in touch with our Friend Terry, (Taz), she is doing good, just got married. She is rarely on here either. I do miss some of our other friends from way back. Every now and then someone will pop in and say hi, then they disappear again. Take care Joey, Hope to see more of you.

Now there's an avatar and username that brings a HUGE smile to my face!! POLLY :D I've been pretty much on a roller coaster since having less time around here, I really shouldn't complain but I can say I've learned from the lessons I have faced which is the most important thing. How have you been? I've missed you too! Wow! I wasn't aware Terry had got married. I haven't spoken to her for sometime I think the last thing I recall was she was doing some DJ work online with the Sims game that she appeared to enjoying. I really should of kept in contact with the people I become to know and enjoy communicating with around this site, I just felt awkward before asking for E-Mails etc. I've grown up a lot since then though :) Mylot should have a big reunion! hehe Take care of yourself too, I'll be keeping a close eye on your discussions dear friend.

Ah, well welcome back. I was gone for about a month or two and it was hard coming back..There were so many new "regulars" that I was astounded! Also some slight changes. But sometimes we need a break from things to keep them 'fresh', you know? Anyway, I do think that a lot of the 'regulars' (the ones who had been around forever) have abandoned MyLot (I Haven't really noticed, but other people are saying so), so perhaps that's why. Anyway, welcome back regardless!

I know some of my friends from when I joined who had huge amounts of posts left due to finding alternative work, I guess everybody as their time. :) For me I'm not ready to leave this place and it's nice to have that buzz back, so I know what you mean in regards to having break. It does help to make things tick more, although I never had an issues with coming it did get a little tiring on the slow days when nobody seemed to be playing here. Thanks maezee, Hope to see you around.

Welcome aboard! It's good to see members to come back again. I have been here for quite some time now but I still go back and check what is happening here. I may not post regularly, but if I have the time, I go check my friends around and see what I can do to help and reply some posts that I can relate to. I don't expect people to answer my posts that quick because there are lots of new sites coming and going, but still I would go back to Mylot because I started here and it has been stable. Happy Mylotting!

You have a point strawberrychocodahi :) Some members are very active around the net and I suppose sometimes people split their time between sites. I don't really expect people to respond, it's just nice to see even when it's a three line reply. (something that I find makes sharing views and discussions more exciting as people communicate in a very effect way) Happy Mylotting to you too.

Although things have changed slightly and I can see some nice improvements, I seem to be struggling to locate certain parts I knew like the back of my hand. LOL It's always nice when people respond to our discussions :) Thanks

I know how you feel.. I too haven't given enough time to this wonderful place. I have had some traumatic things happen in my life..Change of jobs. moving, friends leaving etc. I have to hunt work. Working on a degree in Psychology..Lots of excuses. But, it's always nice to come back to mylot. .I do appreciate the really sincere posters here..but like you said..there are those who really don't post with thought; or take little time to respond. Welcome back..and I am welcoming me back too.. Take care Joy

nice to see you back joey, yes I left and when I came back it was just not the same. I am one of the people that have very little time for mylot now, I am very busy writing and that takes up most of my time.

Like you, I have been away for long long time. When I come back (only 2 days), I just find most of my old friends are also in hibernation. What I respond to are mostly new friends who have been with mylot not for long. I just be normal and do my part responding to friend's discussions.

I have been in and out due to circumstances beyond my control, and it does seem a bit different in that many old friends seem not to be active here any more and most of my new "friends" post discussions but then do not reply to any I start, not that I have time to start many. There does not seem to be the give and take there used to be, but maybe that is because I haven't been pruning my friend list enough nor have I cultivated new friends of the sort who reciprocate. Glad to have you back.

Welcome back to mylot. I can honestly say that I have never left it and not come back. I just can't seem to stay away, however, I do take breaks which does give me time to do other things, but I always do find my way back. I do too enjoy posting here too, even though I have cut back my time in here. I find that by taking breaks keeps me from being bored, as it that is easy to do. I have learned so much from others in here, and that is mainly why I come in here, however, it wasn't always that way, as when I first joined, I was here just for the money. I have since come to realize that earning in here is not as important as learning, as that is priceless. I hope to keep learning too. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Thank you rosekiss :) It's nice to be back here! It's amazing how mylot embrace members, certainly feels like I've returned home after being away for far too long. Yes, you can quickly see a different side to this place. I originally joined to promote my site as I noticed many artistic people and although I had no real insight to the site I found myself drawn to posting. I appreciate your response! Happy Mylotting to you too.

hI, I joined mylot more than a year back and I was not active at that point of time. it was recommended by one of my blogger 's friend and I just join for fun.never try to fight for the minimum payout every month. Till lately, I feel the need to earn money and I found that MyLot is a good website for me to work from home, yet I can earn some money from it. Same time, I can have more friends from different part of the world.I can share my ideas and I got chance to learn new things from MyLot. I definitely will try to spent more time here.

First of all I would like to say welcome back! I, myself, is logged in for the first time in 3 years right now! I'm trying to catch up on everything. Mylot itself (the website, the design, the functions) haven't really changed that much. However, looking back on what I wrote 3-4 years ago, I can really see that I changed - as a person. Also my lag of English skills back then kinda makes me laugh. I don't know how active I'll be, it depends on how much time I'll have. At least I'll try to get in contact with some of my old friends from back then. Maybe some of them are still around - who knows. Again, welcome back to MyLot ;)
