Friends, I have a big confusing question? I have a friend who is so bulgy and large in body. When we happened to eat to gather, I was shocked, because he eat only 1/4th of the food that I eat. I asked him why, he said I always eat only a little. I asked his mom too, how he'll eat, even she said he eats only a little but, he is so bulgy. I asked him whether it is a heredity problem or what. He & his family said nothing like that. But, I was in a big confusion. Why do the people are so bulgy and fat even they eat only little.

I've actually recently heard that one of the causes for people being overweight is because of a virus that lives within their cells. I know that I am overweight and it isn't because of the fact that I eat too much because I really don't eat all that much at all. I think that I must have this virus that I am referring to. That said, as of right now, I think that there are some people that really don't have a lot of control over the weight that they carry in their bodies.

Maybe he only eats a little but eats very often. Remember it's calories in/calories out if one of these balances is off you get fat or skinny.

I have struggled since 1986 when my thyroid went wacky and I have Hypothyroidsim. Most doctors only treat the lowest dose of med to keep us from heart failure I did not know this for many years. In the last two years I learned from a holistic naturopathic doctor that adrenaline and pituitory needs treated too. I have finally started slowly losing weight. I was very small and small boned until I was 34 and I had 5 children and lost all my weight and was slender then my thyroid went out and I do not eat a lot but gained and gained even with exercising a lot. I was tired all the time I did not lose weight and got more tired and kept asking doctors why they had umpteen reasons and none true. I went to a naturopath at friends advice and found wow the medical doctors just want your money and treat the basic symptoms but not the cause or underlying cause. Now I am on the right track. But for years no one would listen or help. So some have health medical reasons they are as they are. We don't like being overweight. I went from 130 lbs to. 290 lbs in six months.

i also have a friend like that-eat a little but still bulgy; and she said it's the metabolism of the body. Each one of us has different speed of metabolism- maybe your friend has slow metabolism, he can't digest food easily so it stays in his body.My daughter eats small meals every day-I think that speeds up metabolism. I also have some friends who eat quite a lot but still stay skinny, lucky them...

Overeating does not make a person fat, there could be other reasons for it. The body has an inbuilt mechanism that prevents it from turning fat. That is the reason there are some people do not gain weight even if they overeat. There are cells, which send a message to the the brain eat extra. One reason for your friend to become fat though he eats less could be that he is not burning the calories he consumes. Those calories accumulated over a period of time have made him turn obese.

I think that some people should try to change their habits of life.sometimes our habits make us fat or bulgy.for exmple sleeping after meal.you'better see a doctor to make sure whether there are some promblems about your healthy,it is possible that you lose the balance of heathy or nutrition.

It could be due to genetics which means it might pass down the family line. They say 'like father like son'. Some people have a better metabolism than others. For example after eating fat might brake down in one person very well indeed but not in her friend. I have a friend that is very thin and he eats a medium amount. Even when he tries to eat lots more food he doesn't put on anymore weight. Exercise can make a person keep to a low weight and fairy thin body. In my teenage years I was very thin. After having a baby born it takes me time to lose the extra weight. I eat a little but still have some extra weight after having my baby daughter born.

well, it all depends on metabolism. Some people really can eat a little bit of food, but still be fat. And there are people who eat a lot of food during the day, but as they have good metabolism, they don't gain weight. Anyway, if you eat healthy and within limits, you still can lose weight no matter what.

hi arunmails metabolism in skinny people is much faster so they burn up the calories they eat and do not put on weight while us bigger people have slow metabolisms and do not burn up all the calories. we can do a lot to rev up our metabolism by exercises that rev up our heart rate so we burn up the calories we eat. walking jogging anything that raises your heart rate will help your metabolism. Also plump diabetics are often that way from the meds they have to take to control their blood sugar. these meds are necessary but one side effect is making us gain weight. Arunmails why do you unfat people think we overweight people have no feelings that you have to tell us we are overweight and go on and on about our figures, we do not tell you skinny people that you should gain some weight as you look like walking telephone poles.

i think it has something to do with genes. some people are big because of their parents. can't help that fact. i have a few friends like that. since thats the case. why do skinny people eat so much and don't gain weight. the same question you just asked, but in reverse. i do eat a lot and dont gain much of any weight. so it has something to do with my very fast metabolism. and my mom was skinny growing up.

They have slow metabolism rate, meaning it takes very long time for them to defeat their food. While at the same time, they can't skip their meals at the proper time and so they keep eating. As time passes, those food will turned into fats and be stored in the body because he hasn't got the chance to burn them off. With every input, there has got to be output but it's not happening to your friend.

I think it's just because of their nature body evolution like the teenagers. I think if they eat a little is almost a big amount to their body and so that they big as they doesn't know why.!

well im no expert, but while i was trying to get my shape into shape, i visited a nutriologist. he mentioned that it was important to eat to not skip any meals or else your body holds on to the fat and stores it as energy. perhaps you friend skips too many meals, therefore if he's big its because he DOESNT eat enough times.

I have thought of the same question lots of times! I wouldn't say I was fat, I wouldn't say I was thin either. I'm average weight/size, I guess. Most of the time, when I go out to eat with others, they would eat so little, I haven't even eaten my fill, and they would complain that they were full already. And I always thought why are they bigger than me when I eat so much more than they do? Maybe it's genetics? I'm not really sure. But most of the time I really get bummed out because it sort of dampens my mood. I want to pig out and my companions can't even eat a full plate of food. Sometimes I think it might also be because of some disorder like hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, I forgot which is the one for bigger-sized people.

Oh well, I just got the same problem. Actually, I want to be in a more slim figure and I tried a lot of things..gym, exercise and even diet. When I got to consult a doctor and discuss about it, he said that it usually depends on the person metabolism. Or some have thyroid problems. Probably it just because of metabolism or if in case it caused him anxiety, better for him to consult a doctor.

I have friends that have that problem, and it isn't that they are constantly eating. There are usually medical reasons for their weight, and alot of times, they are more embarassed about the fact that they can't really do anything about their appearence. So, I guess it really doesn't matter how much a person eats.

It is due to their genes. Some body metabolism are quite slow so they burn the calories from the food slowly making the person gain pounds even if she/he does not eat that much compared to another person who eats every minute and yet does not gain any extra weight at all. I guess to lose weight for slow metabolizing person they must try to do more I mean move and exercise to burn more calories hence lose the weight. Sadly my metabolism is slow so I gain more pounds than those of my friends who eat more than I do.

If people are so fat if they eat just a little amount i think that it is in their gense.their are other reason maybe they stay fat because they are not doing exercises .

I also have a friend who eats 5 times a day, but he is skin and bones. And my other friend is chubby, but she eats 3 times a day. Maybe my skinny friend has an increase metabolism while my chubby bestfriend has a slower one. You should suggest that they'll have to check his thyroid function to the doctor.
