tasted a dog before? / myLot

I am a dog lover. Im raising two puppies now. They are mongrels by the way but it doesnt matter what their breed is as long as they keep me company. Here in my country, a lot of people like to eat dogs. They like mixed bred dogs because of its meat. Im really against it but there's nothing i can do. Its like they are eating their best friends. Poverty really makes a person irrational. I dont like how they treat dogs like that. What can you say?

I have heard some benefits of eating dog meat but no, I do not and don't think I will ever try it.

Dog meat warms the body. I think that is what they are after for. I am happy that there are a lot of people against this.

All I can say is that different cultures and societies are different so I'm not going to be condemning people for eating dogs and such. It's just the way things are. But for myself I'd never eat any dog. I have two chihuahuas so eating dog meat would be like me eating them. It would just feel wrong, like I'm eating a member of the family. After all we are taught that dogs are pets and man's best friend instead of them being food sources. I do know some people from other parts of the world that actually eat dog meat and it's normal for them. It's like us eating chicken.

Here in my country it is illegal to eat dog meat. But because of the meat's effect to the body, people are craving for it. I'd like to agreed that it is like eating your family member. My dogs should be proud to have a master like me and you.

No, and I will never try. I have 4 dogs at home. Initially five, but one got stolen. :( Anyway, I'm not really those kinds of people who are really passionate about dogs, but I would never eat their meat. For me, it's not just because I'm a dog lover or something like that. Maybe it's because I grew up knowing that dogs are not to be eaten, just like chicken, pork and beef can be eaten. But just the same, imagining tasting dog meat makes me cringe.

I have never tasted dog and never will. My brother in law like to eat dog meat. I am against it but I can't do something. The government must do something about this, dog meat is very rampant anywhere, this should be stop right now. I love dogs!

Eeww...that is GROSS and INHUMANE too! I could never imagine myself eating such an adorable animal like dog. But I learned some cultures do eat dogs as their regular dishes. And they eat cats too! I agree with you that poverty is the main cause that leads them to pick cheaper (or FREE) alternative like stray cats and dogs as food.
