I only discovered this today that somehow there's a topic that I try to stay away from.
It's the topic that talks about religion. Every time somebody starts this discussion I try to shy away from it. Religion is a very sensitive topic and it really spurs out a lot of argument, but it's one argument that I want to stay away from because i don't want to offend and be offended.
What about you, have you ever stayed away from a topic because of a particular reason? Please share.

The discussion is about "topics you stay away from" topics you avoid. Reason being some people are overly agressive about defending homosexuality. When you have every right in the world to express your own opinion about it. If a discussion ask you for your view point and you give it. Some who didnt even open the discussion get all offended. And mean and agressive. And even verbal abuse happens.

It is good to read topics about religion, my friend. Because you learn and observe what really the good religion that is commanded by God for us to save when the end of the world is come to us.
You need to know more about religion and not stick in one religion without studying if that one if really the will of God to join and will be save.
The problem with some people they are offended when talking about the bible say and which religion that the bible guide us to the truth.
So, do not be disappointed if we talk about religion instead examine your religion if that really the will of God for you join and will be save
What I'm stay way from is the topics that I don't know the answer in particular questions

Do not be scared that you disappoint people. Just tell what your opinion about religion and stand what you believe if that religion you belong is real which God and Christ told us to belong to be save when judgement day.
If you think that your religion one who choose by God or a religion establish by Christ in the 10th century. Well go on and stand on it. But if you think that religion you belong is not found in the bible it's time for you to think many times if the religion you belong is real or it is really which God wanted you to belong.

I think your an interesting person to talk about religion. I love to talk about religion and learn something from people who has a religion...
If you don't mind, friend. May I ask what is your religion or what religion you belongs?
If you answer my question. I think we have a good conversation about religion and compare what we talk about from the bible...

I'm actually reading the posts regarding religion and I'm not disappointed when somebody discusses it here. I just don't participate in the discussion because I'm scared I might offend somebody because it's a very sensitive topic. I might not have enough knowledge about the Bible but my faith is strong in God.

Yes, religion and politics always create lots of misunderstandings not only online but also in the real world. People can't accept others viewpoints and beliefs. Going against the grains is seen as not qualified to give our viewpoints and thus deserve negative ratings. I think we should not be too conscious of our ratings here and responding to topics in these two subjects should not be a taboo here. I have no particular topics that I detached myself from. I believe in sharing of views and it doesn't mean that I am always right when I give my views. They are subjected to healthy debates.

Talking about politics or religion will lower your star rating. It shouldn't, but some people will give you a negative if they disagree with you. The star is supposed to be for good or bad content, but people use if for agree or disagree. There will always people who disagree with your take on religion and politics.

I stay away from 'how to make money online' mainly because there are so many of them and they usually get the same answers over and over and over and are particularly boring.

I stay away from...
1.) "Relationship" topic because I can't relate to this one like "love"
2.) "S_x" topic. You know that meaning, he he he (^_^)
...well, I like the topic about "religion" and "politics". I would really like to "stay away" from this topic because I've realized that even if you just asked questions, there are some people who got offended, but I really just can't stay away from it.

Just same like you. I would not respond to any discussion about religion and politics. It is not because i have no guts to do so, I am just not here to add the stress some more. on that aspect, i will follow my way and you will follow yours. we do not have to argue who is correct and who is wrong.so i would rather put my eyes and write discussion or response about something else.

I stay away from topics about religion too. No matter WHAT you say on those topics, it will not do anything good for your reputation..
Whether you're all for religion, or completely against it, someone reading your response isn't going to like it, and will give you a bad rating.

Yes, I admit that I do stay away from some topics, like child abuse, deportation and human trading. I find them all very offensive!

I, too, do my best to stay away from responding to discussions about religion. I also try not to participate in discussions about politics.
I have found that both of these topics are very sensitive....
And, people are generally offended at remarks that are made about these 2 topics, if they disagree with them.
Participating in discussions about religion and politics is an easy way to alienate people, in my opinion.
Have a wonderful day!

I tend to stay away from religious topics too. Another one is politics. People get too passionate and argumentative and I am not too savvy on either topic to enter into discussions about those subjects. I have seen folks get quite nasty when someone disagreed with them which astound me; really, this is a discussion group and what? They are surprised to find someone who doesn’t agree with them?

In my case I stay away from topics that I don't know about, like politics in the Philipinnes or things like that. If I'm not familiar with the topic there's nothing I can really say to contribute, so I prefer to take part just in discussions about matters I can speak of
Apart from that... I think that I don't specifically avoid other topics for any special reason, but I will think about it

Yes, I stay away from discussions of Religion especially if the one who started the topic belongs to other religion from mine. I dont want to respond on anything that I am not or dont have a full understanding of things. Religions are unique from one another. I have beliefs that the others totally disagree from. That is why I dont comment on anything about other Religions. I dont want to judge others' beliefs because it is like judging their God. It is better to avoid such topics.

I guess, I'm on it too. I am not very good in explaining biblical terms, events, statements because I don't read the Bible too often. And I find it very difficult and irritating as well when people try to engage me on discussions like this. Everyone is subject to one's opinion, faith and belief. I only open this kind of topics to people with an open heart and mind and simply who's willing to listen because they're soliciting advice from me other than that, I just sigh.
