Have You Ever Been Inspired?

I was inspired today in American Literature class. He was mentioning how you didn't just have one life and one death. Life is a series of lives and deaths(such as getting married, or going to college, etc) And it really clicked to me. So, it inspired me to write a poem. I haven't started just yet, trying to finish reading the homework assignment he gave us to complete.

Have you ever been inspired? If so, what inspired you and what did you do after you were inspired? [/b]

Over the yrs, there have been many things that have inspired me. I think some of them have been what has helped me become who I am today. What continues to inspire me the most right now I think is having the chance with my husband to do a Homeless ministry thru our church.
It also gives us the chance to just reach out to those who are suffering right now, and are displaced and also gives us a chance to be Thankful for who we are and what we have. Also praying with these people and seeing some of them get things that they have been praying for like Better health or a place to live.

I know I'm late, but better late than never. I am always inspired by people I know who do good for themselves. Just recently I started a conversation about a MySpace friend who went on to do good for herself. That inspired me to work harder. This apartment with its wasps and bugs also inspire me to work harder to get out of here!

This reminds of a Soutern Literature class I took a couple of months ago. I was really inspired by the readings and by the instructor. I had been having to write very professionally in all the classes before that one. This instructor actually encouraged us to be creative. I had almost forgotten how much I loved to write..lol...I haven't had time to do much writing lately. The math classes I have been taking have kept me very very busy. I look forward to a break in December. I hope to start some short stories.

I don't think anything has inspired me! Really! I have looked back over my life and nothing comes to mind! I have,at times,a very negative way of looking at times. I still lack self confidence. that doesn't help either! I am getting better as time goes on but old habits are hard to broke!

The closest I could relate to being inspired was when my kids were born. When my first son came, I think I became inspired that I became a workaholic. I wanted to make sure that I could give them everything. This was even confirmed when my second son was born.
I hope we could read you poem soon! Goodluck!

From my childhood the stories of/about many national Leaders have inspired me a lot.Stories of courage against many odds inspire me a lot.Now-a-days spiritual books are a source of great inspiration to me.

I have been inspired several times in this life of mine. I usually go directly to my notes for whichever story I was inspried about and wrote it all out. Sometimes a scene I see on tv or something someone says inspires me for a scene in a story I am writing. It works quite while really.

Hi Steph,
That is a really great quote! I am often inspired by the things I read and people I know. I subscribed to several newsletters and some of the quotes often struck me as I receive them day by day. For quotes, I would use them as a signature in my gmail or email them to friends to inspire them too. For inspiring ideas and thoughts, sometimes I wrote them into my blog, may be in the form of poems or casual entries.

Hmm, that is a good question! A few months back sometime between January to May of this year I was inspired to take 2 part time jobs in addition to my full job. It was exhausting but since I have to gather some money for my daughter's enrollment, I have to make things work for us. I would not say I was forced top do it since I enjoyed the restless days I have spent for it.

I am inspired every day by the little boys work with. They are on the autism spectrum and they work soo hard every day to accomplish the minor things that most of take for granted. Way to go boys!!!

yes, just the other day I took my 3-year old daughter for a short walk around our subdivision. I couldn't help looking at the beautiful houses that we passed by. I saw one which looked very much like my childhood dream house. Then i suddenly realized that I still don't have that dream house until now because i have set aside that dream in my mind and I didn't want it bad enough. When we got home, I got so inspired to make a dreamboard --- something to reinforce the things i really wanted to achieve in my life. Just like that dream house and all the other good things and visions that I want for me and my family. I finished the dreamboard in one night and looking at it daily and visualizing that they're already on their way to becoming a reality really inspires me a lot.

I think inspiration hits most people on a daily basis, some just tend to ignore it and don't notice how things relate to them or spark themselves into a change. I often watch a movie, television or see something which makes me feel I could do that or it pushes me to complete something I previously lacked to do.

I am often inspired....one day after my little granddaughter was visiting I looked at the kitchen chair across from me and there were tons of little hand prints......so I wrote a poem called Tiny Handprints.....on the wall....they don't bother me at all....a little child left them there...so I would know that they'd be here....it's longer but I am sure you get the jest of it!

Um, yeah, I was very inspired and so I wrote a book..Though if I ever get it published, I want to make it clear NOW that I was inspired, that the storyline is FICTION, that my life is not like my characters..

hi StephanieAnn C try again lost response grrrrrr. What inspires me every day here in this tiresome retirement center is several people in wheelchairs who maintain a cheerful demeanor each day and actually really care about my welfare. I feel blessed that I can still walk, not well but can walk and am not doomed to be in a wheelchair. When I am down and grouchy about little things I talk to this sweet lady in her wheel chair and I find myself laughing and smiling. she is another one who inspires me daily.I write poety quite often after talking to my friends in the wheelchairs. Also I come b ack here and mylot and find myself happy and not depressed. So m any have shown actual caring and love for me and I am walking while they have a hard time just standing. We are blessed who can get around on our own two feet.

I can find inspiration in the most unlikely of things.
My current inspiration: Matchbox 20/Rob Thomas songs and the mentally ill
The last thing that inspired me to write anything remotely prolific: A dream.
I used to go and sit at a diner and take a pen with me. Order a drink. Not one of those empty all of the time places, but one where there's always people talking. I'd grab a fist ful of napkins, look around, clear my mind, and listen. To the voices. To the sounds. To life going on around me, ignoring the fact that my ears were listening.
Every decent thing I've ever written, save for maybe one, was written on a napkin at various diners throughout the MW/SE.

With everthing going on in my life at the current time, I honestly cannot say that just about nothing motivates and or inspires me much these days.
Outside of maintaining my sanity I am just trying to accept and well continuing to be a good person despite current events, so that one day I can look back and say absolutely nothing in this world will ever change my character.
(Things are still pending)
