I was listening to "The Law of Success" by Napoleon Hill Audio Tapes and this phase came up - "Success requires action" So for those still blame the world, the society, boss, company for not giving you that chance that you think you should have. Have you consider what have you done to deserved that chance? If you think really deserve it then go out to get it, even if you are make mistake it is better than not doing anything. Because the greatest regret one can have is not doing anything at all.

Absolutely right! "Success requires action" and hard work. Nothing comes from nothing. Even God blesses the ones that do something. If you want something, go out and do something.

Thank you! At this point in my life there is very little else that I want to achieve. I just want to continue in the same good routine.

It would be difficult to convince the homeless and those on food stamp, that is because they are already defeated. That Donald trump for example. At one point of time he was broke and bankrupt, millions of dollars in dept. Yet he rise again to the pinnacle of success. Same for Henry Ford and many great man. That is what makes them great.
A lot people sit that and blame others, now my doing that you are saying you cannot do anything to change the situation. However If you think you can then you will. And then take steps to better yourself. It might be a small step but vital step. Once you step out of it then you can continue to build more success.

I appreciate your message as it is a very wise one but sometimes it is difficult to figure out what action to take. I am in a situation myself where I have a dream, I sent it out there to the Universe and now I don’t know what to physically do to make it come to pass. I figure that if I wait a little while, providing it’s not too long I may just receive the answer so that I can act on it...

Yeah... I work on it real hard. Sometimes it's not easy but you gotta trust yourself and have the confidence reign in you (not in a boastful way, just be proud of who you are). People may not see it - at those times speaking it out might be required. You cannot reach the top without expressing yourself.

Hi iwrite,
That is very true. There is no such such thing as the best, there is only better and better, as we can only improve our situation, through action and learning. Many times we dare not dream and chase after the things because we are hesitant and thought we might fail. It is true, we might fail but we never know till we try. It takes great courage to take action and be proactive in getting what we want, while risking what we have in the process.

I have learnt many things from many people around me, and I am still learning. Learning is a lifelong process. We can draw a lot of inspiration from the wisdom of others.

hi iwrite success in anything requires action even just to making phone calls to set up doctor's appointments and bloodwork appointments which I have been putting off for various reasons, some not all that great as I hate going to doctors thats really not a good reason, raining that was a good reason as all my rain gear is in storage. money is the big problem for me but somewhere in my health insurance literature theres something about free transportation to doctors and medical needs so I am going to have to swallow my pride and use them if this is true as I have to get reinstated with access bus as they tell me I have been with them for five years. now i can get an appt to see them but after the appointment they say it takes 21 days to reaffirm I am good to use it for another five years and its over on Ocf=30 so I must make some actions tomorrow and monjday hopefully we are rained out now as we have had rain all the long darned week. ugh.health success requires my action too.

Ive been reading these self help books on personal finance. The topics range from investing to starting your own business. Among the four books that Ive read and the fifth one that Im reading now, what you stated is probably the common denominator. Whatever it is that we want, we have to take step in getting to it. We need to take action and we need to take action now. Cause otherwise, we what were aiming for would just remain a dream/goal/plan. It will never become reality unless we do something about it. Also, the companion of action is to accept the outcome. Though we may strive for success, we should also accept that most times we will fail. In failure, we find our way to success. We have to try many times and fail many times just to succeed at least once.
A perfect example for this would be Michael Jordan. He's in the Guinness Book of World Records for most number of basket shots. But, guess who has the most number of missed shots as well? He wouldnt have become the best and worst if he wasnt given the chance to do it. His teammates would give him the ball for the shot.
So, it's okay if we sometimes might "miss our shots". The point is making that shot. Eventually, we'll get it.

hitting the nail on the head, you after reading all those good book, you would have knowledge. Now a lot of people equate knowledge to power, but it is only potential power. Knowledge plus action give you power.
The example you gave about Jordon is a great one, I am sure he miss a lot of shots in his life, but is he stop at trying then he would not be one of the top scorers in NBA. So keep trying.

I guess there was a question in there somewhere but I must have missed it. lol Dear old Napoleon Hill and his audio tapes. Isn't getting the job a move in the right direction? You do have to do something and with all discussions on here about trying to find a job I think that is a great feet in itself.

johnpillai,
Those are not my golden words, I am still a student and I am learning at the same time sharing with people. It is also a tool I use to motivate myself. So When I see the discussion, I would remind myself I need to action on what I am required to do.

Well, after all there is a saying that goes, "If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself!" ;-) Often used to take care of matters in their own hands (especially if it's something devious) I believe that it's true. If you want something done, then you gotta do something about. You don't let other people do it for you. You have to put in your share of the work.

This discussion is very interesting. Everybody agrees with "success requires action" and nowadays it's more important to be active. There are so many points we could or have to do. Nobody will bring a job to us if we rest at home. Nobody will offer us a regular income or an extra money if we don't go out to search it. Nobody will give us a knowledge if we don't study, pay a course or buy a good book, nobody won't give us our daily meat if we don't go to buy all ingredients and prepaire the food..... everything requires action and each person is the owner of him/herself and his or her live. In the passed, many persons lost plenty of time. It seems like they woked up with the economical crisis. Maybe one of the biggest problems nowadays might be the motivation as for many persons it's difficult to find motivation or even to motivate themselves. Definitly, I will investigate more about "The Law of Success" by Napoleon Hill. I suppose it also exists as a book?

Hi shell94, ebooks are more interesting than videos, so I will have a look on it if I find some.
iwrite is right, every person needs his/her own initiative to find his/her own way in live.

I may not be successful but I live by the words that all I do in my life I do not have regrets. As I am one to always think things through before I make any decisions and if they turn out wrong I am okay with that as I gave it my best try and that is all I can hope for.

hardworkinggurl,
Making mistakes is part of success, part of growing up. It is much about how you learn from your mistake. It is better that you move in the dark and make some mistakes than staying still and not taking any actions at all. For my making mistakes you could still be moving forward but stilling still you are going no where.

This is especially true of writing. A good imagination and writing talent won't make you a rich and famous author -- you also need the discipline to finish one of the nine or ten novels you've started! (and in case you are wondering, yes, I'm guilty as charged! But I don't whine about how I "deserve" to be getting the publishing contracts that other writers get, because how could I, if I've never submitted a finished manuscript yet and they obviously have?)

I will try very hard, but other writing opportunities have been popping up lately. And I don't mind postphoning the novel if I am getting paid opportunities to do other writing. So I will be doing some action to get some success -- but maybe in a different area than I first thought. That novel will get finished, though. I didn't write over 60,000 words to give up now! It is a comittment I have made to myself. I wish you very good luck on your website -- it must be hard to make a good website, as well.

I like Napoleon Hill's writings, as you know, and agree about the action. Of course, at this point in my life success means something entirely different than it does to most people, but I still like to be goal oriented in my action. In his book Think and Grow Rich, Hill explains that most people just let ideas run around randomly in their brains, whereas those of us who aspire to be successful (or already are) think about what we are thinking, and direct our thoughts to our goals in a purposeful way, remembering that cause and effect are powerful forces in the universe.

haha =D Yeah, success requires action on our part. We can have alot of interesting and workable ideas, but it's pointless if we dun use it.. haha =D It's a very simple logic, of wanting to be rich yet they are doing nothing, din even try their luck on lottery etc, and thus how can they ever be rich?? lol =D
Many people are afraid to try because they are scare of failure, and feel embarassed. But if they really wanna be successful, they should not be afraid of failures, let those laughs and jeers be a motivation factor rather than seeing as something negative. All successful people failed before they attain success, all because they dare to put their ideas into action

Interestingly you should bring up this idea topic, it is said that a lot of us have many good ideas, but we usually push it aside because someone or ourselves would say this would not work, it is not practical. Then years later you find out it is on the market, hey that is my idea.

You are right in saying that success does require action. I think that this is one of the main reasons that I'm not really successful in most aspects of my life. I've been a person that hasn't taken a lot of action in the past several years because of the fact that I've made myself to be a devoted mother to my two children. So, I am successful as a mother but I put having a career on hold and I'm not successful as a career woman.

I am not that smart, I just got the wisdom from other great man. However I thought it would nice to share it with people. Success is not able selfishly guarding a secret but sharing it and make it bigger and better.
I think if you set your mind to it you would be successful in whatever you do. I am sure your children would be a reflection on how success you have been as a mother. and if that make you happy. Then you have been the most successful person there is.

Of course, I totally agree with you. Success would never come to those who do nothing. Success is something a person needs to work hard for. And as you have said, one shouldn't blame others for not going anywhere in one's life- instead of lazing around, he or she should give his or her best in everything.. :D

hi iwrite!
that is absolutely true. gain nothing from nothing.we gain thing from doing something.there is always an outcome even from a single step.even the 'nothing' part is also an action but the result is we gain nothing from it~
we always learn from mistake and the success as well.that is what we are as normal human being.

I just remembered an equation that used to tell us about our professor in college that
SUCCESS = MOTIVATION + ACTUALIZATION
