I heard many people saying that AVG free version is very good antivirus and norton is not because it does not detect some viruses. So i wanted to try it. Earlier I had norton 2010 and everytime I scan i found some cookies detected. now when I have uninstall it and install AVG free instead i found AVG does not give any result. It was says no infected file found. Also I know a site which norton everytime found threats on it but AVG tells me its secure.
So I can conclude norton better. DO you agree with me? now I have eset nod 32 free version and I want to try it.

Safety and Security of P.C depends not only in controlling the viruses. It is also important to make sure that you have enough of fire-power to burn these worms, bots, spy-wares as well.
The best thing to do when you think you might have viruses in the computer is to use the Microsoft's Anti-virus scanner. It is online method of scanning your pc. But If you are unable to do so, as I understand the operating system could be pirated one, then there should be different steps to take care of this problem
First thing to remember would be that most of the free anti-virus editions would not allow you the privileged of maximum protection, so how to sort out this problem.
First you make sure that you have at-least 3 different anti-virus with you, it doesn't matter even if they are for trial. Now, disconnect the internet properly. run one of the free edition and do a boot cleanup.
Uninstall this anti-virus and then Install another anti-virus run it to scan (boot scan is the best)
Uninstall it again and run the third one this should be the chosen one that you would like to keep in the system for long complete the boot scan and activate the Internet connection and regularly update the system...

Hello monalily,
I use avg free version and for me i really like it because my files in my PC are secured. I use this anti-virus since two years already and in my experience it works better from me I dont experience bad performance in my computer. About norton 2010 I think its scan cookies that not really infect the computer or can damage the system or your OS that's why avg free version don't have feature to detect on it.
Have a nice day.

I too had Norton antivirus when i got my pc 4 years ago but after encountering some problems i got it uninstalled and then installed AVG free version. Till date i have it and i found it to be very good as it can be monitored. It also notifies me if anything goes wrong, then i go to the site and then update whatever is shown in red. Usually this happens once a month or even 2 months.I am quite happy with AVG and do not intend to change it either now or in the near future.

I don't use avg or norton at all cause i was not satisfied. I use to hate nod32 too because there was a time that my computer is already infiltrated by trojan, still it did not detects them. But this time I tried nod32 and it is cool now and lighter on the process of my pc.
Try also avast free anti virus it has nice detection capabilities.

i don't think free version or trial is powerful to secure your pc, i had use AVG and Norton but both of them disappoint me. after i'm try kaspersky internet security, my pc is safe from virus, spyware, etc. i think kaspersky is the best for now...
but if you want to choose from AVG free version or Norton, i'm prefer norton....

I have used many antiviruses for my computer. Because my computer always connected through internet so I had need of a good antivirus which gives my computer full protection. And I think I like only 2 antivirus Eset Nod32 and Avast Professional. I have used Nod32 for 16 months but it was a trial version and only for 30 days so every month I install again to Nod32. And now I am using Avast Professional and it is valid till August 2012. And also it gives my PC to fully protection. So now I am happy that I have found a good antivirus for my Computer.

I am using ESET Nod 32 Business Edition and it is very good. Norton wasn't able to prevent the attack of a trojan virus to my computer before so I had to reformat my computer. My best friend said that Avast is also a good anti virus. But if you want to ask about AVG, oh my, it's worse than Norton. A useless anti virus in my opinion. Try ESET, it's really nice and it is also free. :)
