Funny Superstitious Beliefs

Even before I had my first monthly period, my mother and other older people told me about a strange belief, they told me that I shouldn't take a bath the whole time I have my period! I really thought that was ridiculous and I never follow that, imagine, I usually have my period for seven days! :(

Oh dear I can't imagine myself not taking bath for 7 days and having period. No way....usually when I have my period I wanted to keep myself clean and fresh. I don't know it just feels like I am dirty when I am having period. My aunt use to tell me not to wash my hair during my period time because if not I will get dark circles around my eyes...hah another superstitious believe.:)

True! I also feel dirty the whole time I have my period and then very clean after :)

and as you notice....
most to majority of the believers of Superstitious Beliefs are all Roman Catholics in Faith....
the faith is not solid, believing in this superstitious beliefs other than God is a sin in the 3rd commandment of God

A long time back, there were a family living in the ground floor of our building. They were a very orthodox brahmin family, and whenever their woman got their periods, they used to isoloated in the verrandah of the house for 3 days. Usually they never took a bath during those three day. This was about 40 to 45 years back, I do not know if anybody else is also practicing it now days.

this is so disgusting.. i love girls but i really hate them when they speak about menstruation... ecky.. and not taking a bath for 7 days? omg.. that is more disgusting..

You'll get even sick if you don't keep yourself clean. You can take a bath using warm water because I believe having a period is like an open wound but down there so we should also do things with precautions.

Thats funny my mom belives in that superstition as well I cant say I believe in it though its more strange then anything not taking a bath when you have your "you know what". Another weird superstition that my mom used to be believe in was never leave your hat on the bed or whistle in the house if you are a girl.
Heh I dont know why but yup this used to be her weird beliefs.
