Do you still have time to cook for yourself or your family?

In our home, there are only 2 people who lives in our home. Me and my mom. So we usually share the task with each other especially in cooking. She does the meal for breakfast and I do the meal for dinner. But there are times, due to time constraint, we are not anymore able to do so. Since we are both working and we needed to go out early or come home late in the evening. So, we would just only meet somewhere and have our meal in a restaurant. Which I'm pretty sure, it's not that healthy. What about you, do you happen to experience this as well? Do you still have time to cook?

Even though i am always busy about school/studies, i still find time to cook for myself and/or for my family. I think for me cooking is the way that I can show them that I care and love them. Its the way that I can express my caring and love for them. Also for me, i find cooking relaxing because cooking is one of my passions in life., :)

I really admire you for that. You find time to cook for yourself or for your family. Cooking is also one of my passions in life but I just can't find time for it..:-)

I use to not like cooking so much and would use frozen meals. I have really started to like cooking and baking now. I have started to make most of our meals from scratch. It has helped a lot because it's cheaper than frozen foods, it's healthier, and lasts a whole lot longer.

My family consists of about 4 people but my mom's boyfriend is also home on the weekends. We don't always have the time to cook but at least one or two of us will cook dinner for the other. Usually my girlfriend will either heat up left overs of dinner that we had made earlier in the week or we worked together to whip something up.
My mom also makes a lot of stuff in the crock pot as well and that's pretty awesome because then you will have a lot of left overs from that as well. Trying to fit in as much home cooked meals as possible is definitely a way to live a much

At the present, no. I no longer have time to cook. To be exact, it is not I do not have time. It is whoever wants to take dinner cooked by me will have to go hungry until supper time as I work late. LOL. So it is better we all settle our dinner outside or my mother will cook and we eat at home.

In our home there is only myself and my 28 year old daughter and we still try to cook our meals at home every day. We each take care of our own breakfast and I make our lunch to take with us to work for the day. We work together so we eat lunch together. We cook dinner almost every day too but who ever cooks doesn't really matter.
What I mean by that is, we don't take turns, not on purpose, but it seems to end up that I cook about 4 dinners a week and she cooks about 3 dinners a week. Today is Sunday so I cooked a big pot of home made chicken soup and we will eat that all week as a snack when we get home from work because we get home too early to eat dinner. We are usually home from work by 3pm so it is too early for dinner and we are hungry so we have some chicken soup.
When my kids were younger and there were 4 of us it was a lot easier to cook because I cooked in quantity. Because of that I am always cooking too much now and so we have leftovers often and so sometimes when I say I am cooking dinner I am really only warming up the leftovers.
Cheers my friend and happy mylotting,
Chris

I love cooking and I have always found time to cook. Many times I prepare 2 or 3 batches of sauces and freeze part of them. I put water to boil as soon as I reached home and while I was cleaning myself and doing some chores, the meal would be almost ready.
And, besides, cooking from scratch is always a lot cheaper in my country. Veggies on season are not expensive and we have some fruits to eat dessert every day. In my country, the usual dessert are fruits. No pies, icecream or cakes are eaten except when thereĀ“s company.

Unfortunately I don't have time to cook anymore, all I have time for now is eat junkfood or make a sandwich. Sadly my body is showing the consequences, my thighs are getting big and my skin is breaking out. I should change my horrible eating habits.

I think you must cut down or minimize eating junkfoods since it doesn't only break out your skin or make your thighs bigger, but it can harm your kidneys. Just a friendly advice.. :-)

When my husband and I just got married I make an effort to cook for the two of us. It was hard for me because he is so critical of the food he eats and he's very hard to satisfy, except when I serve him pork chops. Now that there are three more people in the house living with us, to include my baby, and a full time job to keep I rarely have the chance to cook. We usually buy cooked food to bring home from work but I still find time to cook every once in a while. When we're not too busy at work I go home early so I can cook.

There was a time when I was almost never home, but I always made the time to cook. What I do is cook a large meal on the weekend, something filling and that will last for a few days. This way when I come home, after a long day at work, all I have to do is heat up the food that was already cooked. Nowadays, I am home more often cook daily, and never go out to eat. It saves a lot of money and is much better for your family, no matter how large or small.

My mom is the best cook in the family so she is the one who prepares the food, My knowledge is more on dessert and pastry, but if she is tired and needs to rest i do the cooking which sometimes turns out a lil bland hehehehe...
we rarely eat at restaurant or fastfood, restaurant to expensive, fastfood chains to crowded. And i think you can enjoy the tatse of food to the fullest if your making it at home right?
Enjoy cooking

When my Children where a lot younger (they are Adults now) I was working, what I did is prepared the Meals so they just needed to be heated up, if I knew I would be late
Then I bought a Slow Cooker and that made the difference, as I would prepare it all, put it in the Slow Cooker and when I came home from work it was all done so that is how I managed to keep cooking while working

I live alone most of the time. Whenever my mom decides to stop by my apartment, I would sometimes cook for her and myself. There can be sometimes that she would cook homemade for for me, whenever I never have the chance to figure out what I want to cook. Sometimes, I would surprise my mom with cooked gourmet food that she had never heard, but it is actually my creativity.

I must admit that since Ive started working multiple jobs I havent really had the time to cook as much as I would like. I try to cook earlier in the day but sometimes Im just too exhausted. We have been eating out alot. Ive tried to plan easy meals. Ive started cooking most of the meal before I go to work and that way Ill have only the last minute preps and we wont be eating at midnight. Now I understand what its like to have not enough hours in the day. dl

Sounds like you and your mom have a great thing going! It's wonderful that you share the cooking job when you can. And it's lovely that you can meet at a restauant for a meal as well. Sounds like the perfect balance! Not all restaurant meals are unhealthy; it depends on the choices you make.
I am privileged to be able to cook for my family just now. I wish we were able to have more family meals and family time, but we are off in different directions at times re work and activities also.

You do what you can..that's all you can do. I have days where I just get home and have an hour before we have a kids' event to get to-so it's hot dogs or something fast like that-that surely isn't the healthiest! I love to cook-I kind of get creative with it! I usually cook all meals here but one-we have a set day (every Saturday) where me and the kids and grandma go out to eat somewhere. It shakes things up and gives me a break.
