Do You Ever Think, " I Think Too Much?"

Sometimes during the day, I just start to think about any subject and go so deep in thought that I forget what I was doing and lose like an hour. Then I snap out of it, and I think that maybe I was thinking too much. Just yesterday I started thinking about all chores I had to do and I started thinking the order I should do each in and then how much time each should take and I just went on and on... Then about an hour later my husband called me and asked me what I was doing, and I just said nothing. Then he started asking me if I had done all the stuff I told him I was going to do, and I just was like not all of it. My point is, it is easy to get carried away when thinking too much and get completely off track. So I wonder has this happened to anybody else? Or am I just weird? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Usually this is the reason why I have trouble sleeping, I do have a habit of not being able to quit thinking and just relax. My brain always generally throws something into my head, this leads to something else and the circle just continues. I really think it's important to try and no over think, as I really don't feel it's normal to question everything in my head.

Thinking too much and not sleeping, I've definitely been through that before. In that case, my body usually forces me to rest after several occasions of not sleeping. Meaning that I will fall asleep when I least expect it. Good to hear I'm not the only one that's dealt with this. Thanks for sharing!

I wished my body would shut down sometimes, I hate it when I can't. Usually I have to try and count things like sheep, which doesn't really work but takes my mind of the things that are really effecting my sleep. Kudos

Hi kay! It's not just you. As a parent I often end up 'thinking too much' of my kids especially if they are sick. If it's not checked I could easily be off-tracked as well. I'm learning to manage it so that it does not distract me from my work and what I should be doing instead.

As a parent of 4, I can certainly identify with thinking too much when it concerns my kids. But hey, they're my kids, of course I'm going to think about them alot. Learning to manage your kids and keep it from distracting you at work can be a difficult task, but with practice can certainly be done. Personally where my kids are concerned, they are always first and foremost and work just has to wait. Thanks for the feedback!

when i said to my self that" i am thinking too much, i need some rest", it means i can't get concentrate anymore. and i am out off track too. don't worry, you are not alone in this case

Hi! I don't think you're weird at all! (Unless I'm weird too!). I do it all the time. I tend to overanalyze things and think way too much! I think its good to think about things and give things proper thought before you make a decision, though I suppose it can get carried away! :)

Yes, giving things proper thought is definitely something we all should do before making a decision, especially if its a life changing decision. Thanks for your response!

this doesnt sound unreal to me, dear. :) i know several persons who categorized themselves as "overthinker" - they love pondering on things because they don't want to commit any mistakes. analyzing things is a good skill, but you don't have to overdo it. because not only you lose time but sometimes you can miss opportunities because you didn't act right away - kat
