it was not until i worked as a virtual assistant i know that others really are crazy enough to waste money in facebook.
are you familiar with farmville? a lot of people are addicted to farmville to the extent that they are willing to buy farmville cash out of real money, purchase farmville leveling guides. OMG..
how about you, did you waste some penny just for the sake of facebook's farmville?

Yes, it is quite obvious. FarmVille is the very first of it's kind in MMORPG. People do invest money to buy FarmCash in FarmVille. They also buy guides to level up quickly in the game. Basically, Zynga (the developer company of FarmVille) has developed this game as if it has it's own Virtual Economy and they try to keep everything in a balance.
I myself am running blogs on FarmVille's niche. I am keeping my blog regularly updated and people visit my blogs to check out the latest updates. I also publish Cheats sometimes whenever cheats and glitches are available in FarmVille. FarmVille is still in a BETA state which means that Zynga is constantly updating this game season by season, event by event and that increases the chances of open glitches left behind by the developers, they do get patched very soon though.
In-short, FarmVille has dominated the MMORPG category of gaming and has developed a good reputation among all the games being played on Facebook.

Well not on farmville, but on facebook there is an application called Sorority Life, and I have spent real money on it. That is only because in that game, there are certain outfits and hairstyles that you can't aquire using regular credits from the game, you must use something called brownie points. Brownie points are obtained in 2 ways, either you get them by leveling up (which becomes hard after a certain level) or by purchasing them.
The outfits and hairstyles you can get with brownie points are in limited quantities, and since you only get 1 bp per level, it would take forever to get enough for even one outift or hairstyle, by the time you save enough bp, the item you wanted would be sold out.
But as far as other games go, like farmville, I enjoy the slow playing and leveling up slowly. So I wouldn't bother to buy credits for those games

Are you serious? That sounds just way too extreme. I mean, sure you can buy pre-paid cards for many MMORPG games. But Farmville and Mafiawars are only browser games. Come on, guys. I do understand them, though. From a business kind of view, they're quite genius. I'm just glad that I don't play those games!

@chispa: well i am happy to hear that you are paying just to get what attire you want.
sorry since the first time, i wasnt able to understand people keep buying those stuff just to play the game.
but now, i understand. it is their happiness that cause them to purchase such stuff. what is money compared to happiness?

I don't feel I waste money, it's free and although it doesn't pay me it's still a very good site. It would be awful to consider that some people might avoid sites which are free, as some owners put a lot of money in and make very little in return. Facebook might make millions but I doubt they'd ever consider paying their users as there is far too many and it would make mylot less special.
It's nice having this site, as it's different because you can make a little extra here.

Personally I don't see why people do pay for it. You give someone the option too, no doubt that they just want to jump onto the next stage and most of those type of games it's super easy to do in first place.
Being higher than your friend I suppose.

Yes, I know farmville and YES I know how much money you can spend on the game. I don't even have facebook, so gladly I don't play the game. However, a lot of people from my class does. None of them buy anything for real life money on there, though.
But yeah, worldwide, people are spending MILLIONS of dollars on that particular game. Actually, they spend enough money to make the inventor of Farmville to Paypal's next largest customer. Only overruled by Ebay. Think about that for a second before you purchase something for Farmville next time....

It isn't just farmville, dear. I saw a lot of game applications in facebook that you need to spend real cash in order to increase your monetary value in whatever game you play. I was also addicted to Yoville , a game where you have to decorate your own place and in order to do this , you need to increase your yocash by buying credits using your credit card so that you can purchase everything you want for your apartment.
I don't know anyone who are really using real cash for these games but maybe, there are silly addicts who are doing this....
I realized now, that playing games there is just a waste of time so why would I even bother to waste my cash as well? So, it is no way for me.:(

yeah there are a lot of games in there. better in your part that you were not able to use your money to buy some playing coins. and nice to hear you realize that playing games if a waste of time. but i guess, it is not really a waste of time as long as you are enjoying yourself. i realize now. it is happiness that pushes these people to spend their money. they want to level up faster and it is their happiness..

Actually I don't play games in Facebook that's why I don't known that in farmville, you can buy something in exchange of your own cash. I can't believe that there are people who do this. I know farmville is addicting [as said by some], but spending their money here is not worth it.

yeah there are instances where you have the option to use your money to let the work done immediately. maybe for us it is not worth it but i now understand them. it is their own happiness and i cant blame them.. at the end of the day, it is their money... i realized it now..

I dont think to be addicted to the farmville in the Facebook is that good for all of us. Because being addicted to the sessions of the farmville will divert the attention of all the visitors and playing members of the Facebook. The more we spend time on the farmville the more the money and the time we are spending it. I should say that each one should have their own material to do and should concentrate in that.

Oh no way! No, I would never waste my money just because of this games. Though I am a fan of Facebook but I would not spend my money there. There are many other site that I can play a lot of free and fun games, and if I really want to buy them then I make sure it is a game that I can have on my PC and that I am able to play with off line and when I don't have an Internet Connection. But so far, I never used any of my money for games online, and I'm really happy with that. I do not play farmville on Facebook though, I'm spending more time on mylot
Have a nice day!

I do find it insane people actually waste money on games. I do play a few games on there but I refuse to pay money. I have found that once I play a game for so long I get bored of it anyway. If people want to waste money on the games though that is their business.

playing es just for fun, plus my son loves farmville and frontier so i play that, i also play mafia, three kingdoms and a lot more. but to spend real money no of course not. but if others spend real money on farmville and other games well i think that is okay too. besides thats their money not mine. i have friends at farmville who are paralze or are home or bed ridden and by doing this it makes them happy. so why deprive them from the happiness they get while doing this.

I know that there are a few people that pay money to buy things just so that they can get further than their friends on these games. There is also a game that people were buying gems on that was also another way of getting more things and there were loads of people doing that to get further than all their friends, then their friends were also getting things to get on a higher level. What a waste of money.

yes, I know Farmville and the other games from Facebook; I also play some of them, but for sure I never spent any money there. That would be a nonsense. of course, if you really like them and if you really want, you're free to spend whatever you can spend... but I find it pretty useless. Especially because you can play them free of charge, if you want ^-^
