I have lost about 20 pounds over the last few months. I have done it by not drinking sodas or sweet tea. I mostly drink water and un-sweet tea these days, or I drink milk or orange juice. You would be surprised how much sugar you can cut out of your diet by not drinking sodas or sweet tea...

Yes. After getting a not so good result on my last physical, I have lost about 9 pounds in about 5 weeks. I did this by exercising more and cutting back on my snacking(not cutting it out). For instance today I did dumbbells, walked half an hour in the house, did weights and rode a an exercise bike for an hour. However I did have more snack size Nestle's Crunch than I should have but hopefully not so much as to gain weight and hopefully I will lose another pound.

To be honest, I lost almost 30 pounds an year ago. I didn't concentrate on any proper diet an all. I just concentrated on walking as much as I could. Daily, I tried to walk more than 2 miles and within 3 months I lost 30 pounds.
Everything depends on wasting your energy, not gaining less energy. Gaining lesser energy will only make you weak (with or without weight loss). Using up your energy will definitely make you lose some weight.

I started jogging last 2 months a go, I jog 3-4 times a day and not really a strict diet a controlled one. I lost about 10 kilos already. I am planning to join a boxing class so I can pick up the phase and loose more weight. My friends really recommend boxing, try it out.

Serious calorie reduction, and increase in exercise! There are legitimate criticisms of carb-free diets, but I have a gluten sensitivity which results in a lot of aches, pains, and inflammation from eating carbs, and when your body is constantly in small (but annoying!) amounts of pain, it releases stress hormones that make you store fat! So, for me, I do need to reduce simple carbs and only eat a few complex ones.
When I was 18, I lost 26 lbs. I went back to my junk food eating ways, and gained it back plus way more. Before I got pregnant, I lost 20lbs, then after having the baby, I lost the baby weight plus another 16 lbs. So I am now 36 lbs less than my heaviest weight.
