Hi, It happened for the first time for me. This year, I spent my birthday alone. Just a few days before my birthday, I was posted to another city for a few weeks for work purpose. As it happened, in this city, I do not have any close friends. So, I had to spend my birthday alone. My wife was disappointed since she is at home. I also felt very lonely because earlier, at least there used to be someone with whom I can celebrate my birthday. Have you experienced anything similar?

There have been times when i spent my B'day without my friends nevertheless i have always celebrated my B'day with my parents.I never had to travel other places so there wasn't any chance for me to be all alone on the main day!Belated Birthday Wishes :)great day.

Hi, Firstly I wanna wish you Happy Belated birthday. Don't be sad.although this year birthday you have to be alone. but next year, sure you will be able to celebrate with your family member. Bear with it and it is because you are posted to another city for work, that is why you have to be alone on your special day. You can always call your wife or chat with her via MSN,at least you won't be bore.

I have never experienced something like this before, but if it would happen, I would say that this is how it has to be. But until now I have celebrated my birthday either with my friends, either with my family either with friends and family. It is very nice, but it can happen to be in a different place like you were and to spend your birthday alone. It is nothing wrong with that and I am sure you have caught up when you went home. So I think it is not very important to celebrate your birthday on the actual day, but around that day when you can be with the people you care about.

So far i have not. Every time at least my wife is there to celebrate. This year my old parents and sisters and friends wished me as usual and my son staying away for his job turned up two days before my birthday and presented me a nice shirt of his choice. Luckily that day was father's day so he has also given me two cards, one for birthday and another for father's day.Really i am lucky enough to get all this.

It is sad to hear that you are away from your family and have to spend your birthday alone. Just remember that your loved ones are always there and just like how you are thinking about them, they also will be thinking about you. Remember its only a few weeks and then probably instead of a birthday party they might have a comeback party for you. Dont be sad and keep smiling

Birthday this the precious moment to all of us and we got emotional during this day. Celebrating birthday with somebody... well I almost don't remember when was the happened to me since i was born before i got my own family. When i was still single i never celebrated my birthday I always alone and this make me feel ordinary until i became a lady. The celebration I had was when I got married and have my own family. They are with me until now everytime this day is coming. Happy to be with them.

A birthday should be a celebration of your life.. it shouldn't be spent in solitude. You don;t have to have a blowout party to celebrate your birthday. having at least one special person to spend your birthday with is worth looking forward to.

Hi! Belated happy birthday! My birthday is coming soon too. I always spend it w/ my family and friends, if there will come a time that I'll be alone I'll just dine in a fancy restaurant and buy my self a nice gift.

hmm i ever get similar situation like you when i was child,i remember that i told my mom to dont celebrate my birthday because i dont like it,yeah you know i feel envy with my friend that can celebrate it sometimes, but i feel alright then and until now i never want to celebrate my birthday because for me "birthday" is something that mustn't be celebrate because when we are born in this world we are crying and all people around us is smiling but 1 thing that i never forget ,im always make my mom busy when i was baby until im a teenage,it's better to say thank you to your mom than celebrate it :)

oh, i quite used to that. i haven't celebrate my birthday since i was 13. but it's me to ask my parents not to celebrate my birthday. i enjoy the time when i was alone, especially when i was in my birthday. i don't know how to describe the feeling but it was nice. hope you will have a nice birthday party next year.

I am sorry to hear that, I do not want to experience something like that. Having someone by my side during my birthday is enough for me.

Spending one's birthday alone is a bit difficult. Maybe, you could have included someone nearby to be with you, and shared a meal with that person.

I spent my birthday alone many many times already..since i live alone. It is not big problem with me, i go out, have good food, drink a bit at home and then sleep...being sad or not,...is just our choice. Why don't think positive, make something to enjoy yourself...

dnt you worry much, i myself experiencing it for such a long time, not just birthday but christmas and new yr too... i got the same feeling, where you should be spending that all special day with your family or your special someone...but the mere fact that you are alone thats very sad...so what i just did is not thinking at that day to be so special, think of it as just an ordinary day just continue your daily routine hen thats it....
