a quarter away from $165,000...

Well it wasn't MY $165,000, it was R, but anyway.... We're at the casino last night, and I'm not in the best of moods, cus the casino isn't being nice, and they replaced some of my favorite penny poker machines with something else, and I'm just feeling bla anyway, when R calls. So I figured, "crap he's doing lousy and wants to leave." But he says, "come over to the Wheel of Fortune machine." So I realized he must have won something. So I walk on over, and it says, "progressive progressive progressive." And I look up at the progressive and it's $165,000 and change. That's when I see that he put in two quarters, not three, and it's $750.00. The lady next to him says, "yep he was Mr. Consevative." lol Well that's not bad, but oh what a difference. All the way home he's going on about what I would have wanted to do with it and so on. I don't think he realizes that, considering I filed for divorce, that it's HIS money, and I wouldn't have had a legal right to so much as a penny of it. But anyway, that's about as close as I've ever come to a big progressive jackpot. Stupid casino. lol

Well, you know that you would have wanted a part of it if you could have had it. Of course, then again that money would have been good because then maybe he would have been able to think about a place of his own since you are in the process of a divorce. I would be absolutely sick if I would not have put all the money in the machine and then hit the next step down from the highest jackpot that I could have won. Oh well, $750 dollars is more than I've ever won at a casino.

It would have made it a lot easier if he had won, but oh well. One of my friends told me I should whack him for that, but really if he had been playing 3 coins, he would have been out of money before he ever got that far!

Well at least it's $750. Better than nothing. At least for a prize this small, you don't have to deal with any legal issues. About who has right to it, with your divorce proceedings. It can go directly to something useful! Like a bill, or something. But I agree, stupid casino! This coming from a sore loser.

hi, I never had experience going to a casino but I wish one day I could go there and just to observe around. I never knew how to play cards, etc. I just want to see what it looks like inside a casino. I hope I can earn or win a jackpot like with that amount.

The casino employees are not allowed to gamble there, so all you would be able to do would be to observe.

Wow, to bad there hadn't been another quarter added..Well, you do have kids and they would definitely wanted some things with that money..I just did a search and we have a casino/horsetrack close, about 20 miles away but we have never been to any in the state of the 8 that are in our state.and it is illegal to get paid when you when at the machines that you find in stores..that are for entertainment purposes only..but I do know if some that did pay the costumers when they won..

My grandson was visiting from Arizona and his uncle took him to a casino in the cities....they called to tell me that he had won a $900.00 jackpot! First time the kid had been to a casino! I didn't believe him right away and his uncle is a jokester! But when he got back here I got to see the money....I hardly ever win at gambling. I figure if I pulled up and they put a vacumn cleaner hose in my pocket and just sucked the money out it would save both of us time! LOL

I get a bit bored at the Casino because I usually only allow myself to lose a few bucks which doesn’t take long and then if I can’t afford to keep playing I get bored very quickly so I don’t enjoy it all that much. I had to smile when you mentioned R is still talking as if you were not getting a divorce at all! He is still in denial land or what?

Only when to a casino once and I don't care if I go back to one again! I went with $20.00 and I left with nothing. I just wanted to do it once and I did! I know people who go every weeek! They love to complain they have no money! No wonder! If they didn't go to the casinos they would have money! Then there are the people who just go a few times a year to have fun! By the way when are going to throw him out? I know it is a hard thing to do but he has to go sooner or later!LOL!

Well it's to the point where I'm not feeling like I have to get the h*ll out of there all in a panic, but at the same time I don't particularly want to be married to him either. I got kind of intimidated by the legal stuff, and took a break, but I promised myself I'd get back on it this week.

I love and hate casinos, dawn. Even when I win I end up losing because I so love to play and then money is converted into chips so they are not worth anything apparently. One of the reasons I love Arubian casinos is because they always have lots of penny machines so I can play only what I can lose. I do´t understand at all the US divorce laws, but I stopped trying to understand yours. I would not gpo to the casino, to plays, to the movies, even with the children with someone I am divorcing. I would not accept him to come near me either. But it seems that every marriage is different and so is every divorce.

I don't mind being around him as friends, but as soon as he tries to make it more than it is, I get very uncomfortable.

I went to a casino only once in my life. It was in the socialist period in my country. Back then the casinos were only for foriners, it was forbidden to gamble for local people. Me and my husband we had gests from Greece, we went out and they wanted to go to a casino. The two of us could get inside after being warned not to gamble. In fact the control was not so strict so I tried the roulette. But I discovered that I had no thrill at all about wining, I was bored. And since that I never wanted to visit a casino.

so if you are not divorced already id think you'd still get part of it. besides it sounds like he still loves you and would be total willing to share so you could have some of it. guess this guy is so disgusting you dont even want it?

Legally, I'm not entitled to anything after the "separation date" in my documents. But yeah he was willing to "share". He's not disgusting, he's just run out of chances, and I don't love him any more.

Wow! It is like being a day late and a dollar short. I have never been to a casino but they are going to legalise it out here. I'm glad that he won - even f it wasn't the biggie.Maybe he thought that if he had won then you would stay with him. Just a thought.........

He probably did think that. I'm at least glad that there's a little extra to go toward the bills. It's bin a bit tight lately. I wonder if Friday nights at the casino has anything to do with that.

It never fails... When I play max...nothing. When I play one or two (pennies; max lines of course), it hits. I think I walk away winning one out of ten times I go to a casino. Not good ROI, but it's fun (as long as I don't go over my limit). Does R know you've filed for divorce? If he does, it sure doesn't sound like it's sunk in. Best of everything as you move forward.

Yeah, here's the thing, if he'd been playing max, he would not have still been there when it hit. Yes he knows that I've filed. In denial...
