But I'm having an issue, he's a chihauhua and well when we brought him home in a matter of a few hours my dog started coughing and sounding like a sneeze. We've only had him for a few days now and yesterday he threw up and today still with his coughing and sneezing. He ate the night he came home and he ate yesterday. Today he ate nothing at all. He weighs about 10 lbs. Called into the vet and we can only bring him in monday morning before my hubby goes to work. Well, he hasn't eaten at all, I do plan on taking him to the vet first thing monday morning, he's still drinking water and stuff, would he prob be okay till monday since that is the only time we can bring them and has any one gone through this and is there anything that I can do to help him feel comfortable until he gets to the vets. And if anyone have an idea what this might be please let me know. Thanks.

well Trisha, where really are you living, chihuahua do not survive all the climatic conditions, keep him warm, try to get him some fresh air, you just take him for a walk. give him milk may he take it, in my opinion you should really take him to the vet. if you do anything it may result in disaster and you may loose your pretty chihuahua.

Thanx for the comment. We actually live in Texas and the weather is changing a bit to cold weather. like its a bit windy outside. He likes to go out for the bathroom and walks, I guess I kind of got to break him of that to be mainly inside and go outside for bathrooms and that's it. But just an update he did eat today, so I'm thinking he wanted privacy, he's still sneeezing and coughing though, so he'll get a check up on Monday.
Thanx
Trisha

One of the most common causes of a dog cough is kennel cough. It is usually something that is easily cured. If he continues to cough give him a little honey to soothe his throat. Be sure to keep him warm and as cheery as possible, If you are concerned over his lack of eating, trying giving him some lightly cooked (or raw) ground beef. He'll hopefully find it delicious, its easy to eat and for a dog full of good nutrients to help keep his strength up. A little yogurt (Plain nonfat) can also help with an upset belly. Most important is just giving him the space he needs to sleep and recover, while you give him love and reaasurance. Good luck!

I may try that and see if that works. It actually look like he was going to his food bowl and then I looked at him and he walks away. Lol, I'm thinking too maybe he don't want to eat while I'm watching lol. Still has the cough and sneeze though is why I'm concerned. I may try giving him his space while he's eating. I heard though that chihauhaus like lots of attention. I'm not sure though never had one. Thanx for the advice.
