I've had 3 phones so far, and each of them has lasted for several years. Some people change their phone every year or such, but I don't really see the point... I mean, if the phone still works, why change it? In my case, I only replaced my phone when it broke or stopped working... and hopefully this phone I have now will last for much longer! :)

I agree, most cellphones are not very durable. I got my first cell phone in 2005. It was a sturdy phone, but I notice every year they get less and less reliable. I also tend to accidently drop my phone which seems to shorten their life span. So far, I've had five phones. Two plain flip phones from Motorla (they make pretty sturdy phones), a razr (it was ok), a Blackberry Pearl (this was great), and a Blackberry Curve (this gets damaged more easily).

I got my first cellular phone when I was seventeen years old and I've had a cellular phone now for the past thirteen and a half years. In that time I've had about six different phones. I will typically use a phone for about 2-3 years before it needs to be replaced. I don't have to be one of those people that always has the highest trend of phone. I also don't typically spend a lot of money on the phones that I've owned.

I have had just 4 cellphone and I tend to keep them for quite a while before changing them. If they are working and they do what I want them to do, then I am happy with them. My current one has a camera. It is a 2MP, not the best of cameras, but it suits me fine. The first phone I ever had was an analogue one - that was quite some time ago, and for the most part I could never get a signal whenever I was away from the city! And it was huge! _Derek

My first cell phone was a Nokia, it was pretty big compared to the ones today. It was .15 a minute and I got it because I worked at MCI, which stands for Many Changes Instantly. :) My second one was a chocolate bar type, it was a Nokia also, it was a pre-paid cell because I only used it when I needed it. My next was a Samsung flip phone from AT&T, my last phone is an iPhone from Apple and AT&T.

I am using my fourth cell phone which is not very many if you consider how long mobile phones have been around! I am a late starter because my husband bought my first phone around five years ago. I have been on 24 month post-paid plans except for my first phone which was a gift but ended up in the washing machine!

I had my first cell phone when I was around 15, back then I had the bulky types. In fact I still have it today but it is not currently in use. Since then I've had around 4 phones, and I only lost 1 phone. I think I'm doing pretty well with my current one and I'd be happy with it for some time. I don't like to change phones too often - if it works and does the job, and doesn't break down, I'll stick with it.

That's it? I was expecting a short response on how many cell phones and whay were they, and all you can tell me is the number 1?? One word responses isn't what mylot is all about. Unless the number 1 signifies that you've only had 1 cell phone (it's good if you've had one cell phone. that means that you've taken care of it so much, or it could be that you've only started to use cell phones, so that's why you said the number 1), this comment is completely meaningless. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. One sentence discussions is not what mylot is. Ok, I know that you're a new user and all, and you probably haven't read the guidelines yet, but you should know that already. Have a nice day.

I have had two, since my first cell phone 3 years ago. Hopefully they are durable enough for the next three year. furthermore I'm not a typical person who will buy a new one or latest trend of cell phone, unless my previous phone broken.

Hello fellow myLot member, I have only had 3 mobile phones sine my first phone purchase. I bought my first cell phone around 20 years ago, I still have the original sim card and still have the same phone number. I am not really into updating to the latest model or make, I think this is more a fashion trend for younger people. If my phone rings when someone calls, tells me when I receive a standard text message, and allows me to phone friends and relatives then that will do for me. Who cares on how many pixels the camera has and if it has a touch screen or not. Just my humble views on the subject. Have a relaxing day here in myLot.

Hi there! I've had 5 cell phones since I had my first one which was in 2001. Although not all of the reasons why I'd changed my mobile phone is because it got broken or something. :)

I don't think I've had that many cell phones. Most i've kept for as long as I could. Wore them down until they wore out or broke. Maybe six or seven. If I wanted to be real bold, I'd probably have to guess somewhere around there. Of course that's only a guess. For the past few years I've replaced my cell phone just so I had a working back-up should something happen to the current one. I'm thankful however, that I've never needed to go down that rout. Ok I have. But only once.

I have only had one cell phone, since my first cell phone. The one I have now is only my second cell phone. I tend to use them very rarely, but they come in great for emergencies. I think wear and tear depends mainly on the person who is using it. Not that some cell phones are built crappy.....

Hello. I remember it clearly, when I was 18 years old. I had my first job after my graduation. My goal is to be able to buy my own cellphone. So, every time I get my salary I kept it. When the time comes that my money is exactly the price of the cellphone I want, I went to the store to buy my very first cellphone. I remember it clearly my very first cellphone is samsumg . Then I had an accident, when I was eating at mcdonald and went to the comfortroom, I place my cellphone on the floor. And because I'm in a hurry, I went out the comfortroom. When I was about to go out the mcdonald's, I remembered my cellphone that I put on the floor of the CR. So, I run fast to reach the CR. When I look for the place that my cellphone was left, it was not there anymore. So I lost my very first cellphone. When I had a job again I bought Nokia 5110, then followed by nokia 3310, when my nokia 5110 got broken. Followed by nokia 1100, then nokia 2330 classic. Followed by a china phone nokia N99i, then another nokia china cellphone. Then lastly my phone today, is cherrymobile phone. So all in all I had 9 phones all my life.
