When it comes to the highest vitamin C fruit, the answer may surprise you. Most people think of the orange as being the riches source of natural vitamin C. In actuality, this distinction goes to the Kakadu plum, a fruit native to Australia. This vitamin C rich fruit has up to fifty times the amount of vitamin C found in a single orange.

I don't think, watermelon has a lot of vitamin, it might only contain water, sugar, and several minerals, but I do like watermelon as much as i like Mango, Oranges, Apple, guava, grapes, mangosteen, and banana. Anyway have you ever tried fried banana ?

Hi Stich, Thanks, for bringing up the matter of fruit! :O) (I'm vegetarian, so I think about it a lot.) First of all, when you say vitamins, I presume you really mean nutrients. There are a lot of vitamins, but also minerals, enzymes, anti-oxidants, and fiber. As someone pointed out, no single fruit gives you all the nutrients. However, here are some interesting things to consider. Watermelon is higher in lycopene than stewed tomatoes (which get all the hype). It's also a good source of glutathione--a powerful antioxidant that the body can actually recycle! And, according to John Robbins' DIET FOR A NEW AMERICA (page 165), vegan foods with the highest content of iron (in descending order from containing most to least iron) are spinach, cucumber, lettuce, bell pepper, strawberries, cabbage, lima beans, grapefruit, and wheat. Strawberries have double the amount of iron that ground beef has. I got the iron list from Liz's response to a question on Yahoo Answers. Now, how about the biggie? Vitamin C? It's really important, because just a few days without enough, and I feel my gums loose their smooth texture--that's the path toward scurvy, which sailors in England were famous for overcoming by eating limes. (They were known as "limeys" for that reason.) Well, according to Dr Sears (quoted on the Former Fat Guy Blog), here are the Top 7 Fruits For Vitamin C Content (and #1 is NOT a citrus fruit!). 1. Guava, 1 medium, 165 mg 2. Papaya, 1 cup, 87 mg 3. Strawberries, i cup, 84 mg 4. Kiwi, 1 medium, 74 mg 5. Cantaloupe, 1 cup, 68 mg 6. Orange, 1 medium, 75 mg 7. Grapefruit, half, 42 mg Guava has the most Vitamin C, and its sometimes sour rind has the MOST Vitamin C in the plant (5 times more than an orange). So, in addition to taking guava for Vitamin C, you may want to simply use a juicer. I don't eat guava or papaya, unfortunately. I really can't stand their taste. :P Hahaha! What can you do? But I looooove strawberries (& watermelon). So, I'm good. Sunshine & Blessings, Giovani

Kiwi, the acai berry and blueberries I think. But oranges are great for Vitamin C too!

Hello there! This sounds really interesting. I would say a guava for me. It is high in Vitamin C or ascorbic acid. 8 times more than that of a calamansi.

For me, I also think that it's Apple. I don't have a logical explanation though remember kids!: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" Hope this counts! --Jaja
