if you go to starbucks you're "in!". thats one of the reasons why...
knowing of its high price and with the state on crisis...
if people saw you purchase a coffee in it, you're probably a medium-high class people in the society.
sometimes i also visit starbucks, if i have a business client to meet, i go on this shop for social purposes only, so my client wont think i am so thrifty, and also profitable on myside to have a good business with that person. but if only with myself, i just make coffee at home.
why buy coffee to a cheap coffee shop if you got the money?! right?! i guess that's most people mind set.
if you wanna have coffee and dont have the money then just go on a 3 in 1 coffee bought even from a small store... a lot cheaper... just my opinion anyway...

There are people who loves to stand by at beautiful or nice ambiance. It has been a meeting place already for other workers especially when meeting clients. In my case I realize that it has good effect of caffeine that gives me more energy.

Starbucks offers good quality coffee, service and with good ambiance. Although, your opinion may also be true that one can go to lower cost coffee shop. Sometimes, it just more of our psychological preference on what we want. Because, there are others who are brand conscious. Also, think it's sort of a status symbol that hey I can afford to buy "starbucks" coffee.
