Memorable things bought or something lost

On my travels I have bought lots of different costume dolls. These over the years have made a lovely collection. When I was in Romania I found a lovely little crystal shop. There I bought a sphere much cheaper than it would have been in my home country. When I was at the airport in Fiji I got a message to stay that the information desk had my dressing gown. That was wonderful because I had thought I has lost it. I had left it by mistake on the tropical island that I have been to. Recently I have lost my mobile phone and I might have to buy another one. Have you ever bought anything memorable or special on your travels? Did you lose something you brought on your travels?

I think it was lovely that you bought a small soft toy key chain for your boyfriend. Then it became sad when it got lost in his baggage. Sometimes small things can get lost then it can be challenging to find them again. I was so upset at Vancouver Airport thinking I had lost my net book cover and all the time it was on the tray of my children's buggy. It was such a relief to find it once we got off the plane in London.

Hi maxi, You seem to travel a lot and have a lot of experience and knowledge regarding places ! I too love to buy little things unique to the place I visit.Last year I visited Switzerland and Germany. I bought a couple of bone china souvenirs and plates in Germany. I had taken care to wrap it carefully, but, unfortunately one of the little plates was chipped when I reached home.I have patched it up, but I do feel bad when I look at it - all the best

Hi there Kiran, yes I travel a lot because traveling is my top hobby. It was so sad that one of your little plates that you got in Germany got chipped. I am pleased that you patched it up. When I went to Kenya I bought a wooden giraffe. I still have it now but when it falls over one of the ears comes off. I have mended it a number of times. Best wishes.

Hi Maxine, I personally haven't bought or lost anything on my travels but my daughter always brings me back a thimble from her trips, this started years ago when she went on her very first local school trip, she bought me one when she went to Fiji but when she got home couldn't find it anywhere and stil hasn't although she is sure she packed it, so that is one less for my collection but she was so upset about it bless. Glad you got your dressing gown back :). Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi my friend Ellie, I think that a thimble is very small indeed. It was kind that your daughter bought you lots of thimbles and it began when she went on a school trip. How many thimbles have you got in your collection I wonder? Maxine

Lost: Naomi's green jacket and my Victoria's secret bra and jeans. Never tried to get them back. Also, my pillow in Fresno, but that I did get back. Things I've bought: a doll with a Belgian lace aprol, a Murano pelican, German Raeuchermann, Danish viking doll, glasses in Prague, lots of t-shirts and hats and many other things I can't think of right now.

I am glad to hear that you found your dressing gown. Did they post it back to you? When I was in the USA I lost my $500 camera. (or should I say, it was stolen?) I must have misplaced it among our piles of baggage as we were loading a rental car in San Francisco. I think it must have been kicked under the car somehow and missed. We drove straight down to the Golden Gate Bridge and I searched through the car to no avail. So we went back to the rental car place, where I know it made it to as I did remember having it there, but all of the staff there said they had not seen it. Someone was lying! It was full of great photos that were going to be rekindling my memories for years to come too.

I lost my necklace which my grandmother gave me she was not angry because i lost it. She even told me that it is better that the necklace was the one lost and not me. My grandmother rocks

It was lovely that your grandmother was happy that you didn't get lost and didn't mind that the necklace she gave you got lost. She sounds like a very kind and understanding sort of person.

I bought a ton of things when I visited Europe...on my trips about the US though I have quit buying things and use my pictures as my memories...basically because I don't have room in my house and sometimes those things just get packed away...so I scrap my pictures in cool albums so I can look at them whenever I want.

When I was in Japan, I bought some horror-looking masks. It was an official business trip so I displayed the masks in my work area. Then I had to quit that job so I had to bring the masks home. But when my first son was born, I didn't think having those masks at home was a good idea. So I put them in a box for when move to another home. I don't have any idea where that box is right now.

Everytime I travel somewhere I always buy something. The last time I was in Italy I bought a little side-bag(sachel), which I love very much. I love it because it goes with any outfit and it has a story behind it. I also bought it in my favorite part of Italy, Palermo.

i think i've lost my guitar while going for a few days to the province. well, that's just what i think other than having someone borrow it and not having it return to me. it's really sad cause that guitar has sentimental value in it.
