Greetings!
We do not really celebrate Halloween, we celebrate Samhain. Samhain is when we pay tribute to those who have left us in the last year and to our ancestors. It is also a time hen we say farewell to our group and the wait begins for him to be reborn at the Winter Solstice. For us it is also the new year. We celebrate with close friends, with a feast and then a Samhain Ritual.
For Halloween we give up candies to the kids and some years we may dress up and go out to a party, but our major focus is on Samhain.
Have a wonderful day!

it is really interesting how different culture celebrate halloween. we have different names for such.. here in my country (philippines) we call this event as All Saint's Day(November 1. On All-Saint's Day we honor all the saints in the Roman Catholic Religion. Then every 2nd day of November we have the All Soul's Day wherein we commemorate and honor our departed relatives and friends. we visit their respective graves and made sure that it is cleaned and we light candles and offer prayers to them.

I celebrate halloween by taking my kids out trick or treating early as they are young children, and then me or my wife answer the door to other trick or treaters when we get back from that and give out treat size chocolate or sweets to the children. We buy a pumpkin every year and calve it so that it has a funny face on it and put it in the window with a tealight candle in it.
