Hiccups often start for no apparent reason and usually disappear after a few minutes. There is no way to stop hiccups, but there are some suggestions that may help: Breathe into a paper bag, drink a glass of cold water, or eat a teaspoon of sugar. Do any of these works at all? Have you tried a remedy for it doing something about it? Please share guys.

They said you should be shocked in order for the hiccups to be gone, and other remedy, pinch your nose while drinking water lol I dunno if those remedies are accurate, you try and you'll see lol

I have yet to confirm that it works but I just observe that music relax me to the point that I'm made too high to ever suffer a hiccup. Also sleeping may be worth a try because sleep revitalize the overall system of the body possibly including the part where hiccups lie.

Yup, holding the breath seems to help. I seldom get hiccups, but when I do, I will just gulp down a big glass of water, and sometimes I just don't think about it. Eventually it will go away.

I heard once that if you put a tablespoon of brown sugar on the back of your tongue it will stop the hiccups. I have never tried that though to see if it works. I hardly ever get the hiccups it seems. Who ever has brown sugar on them to try it anyway? I once knew a girl that got the hiccups everyday at exactly the same time. Weird!

I get hiccups more often than most people for some reason. This trick is my husband's but it works everytime. Have someone cover your ears with the palm of their hands while you drink one 8oz glass of water. Looks kind of silly but works very well.

Having hiccups, I've tried it many times already, and the only thing I do is to drink water until my hiccups is gone, I think a cup of cold water won't help, I would prefer a cup of warm water, to promote relaxation of your throat and the surroundings muscle. Some cause of hiccups, is that the food you swallowed is not properly passed on to the stomach and so it is our body's way of giving a signal that there is something wrong inside our body. But its a small deal, and we must not get nervous about it, hiccups usually happened minutes to hours after we eat and we only drink less water. The next we eat, we must chew it properly and we should not be in a hurry to eat our meal, 30 minutes of eating would be enough, to avoid hiccups frequently. So swallow your food wisely.

Well, medically (I think) hiccups are caused by an irritation on the nerves that supply the diaphragm and the stomach. This causes hiccups. What most people do is to detox by drinking a lot of water.
