I know that not many people read these days, but still I'm confident that small part of humans that is still reading is doing it daily. I was wondering what is your favorite book ever? Mine is "The stranger" by Albert Camus. What's yours?

Mine is slaughterhouse five by kurt vonnegut. I love it because of the villains. Not just the obviously villainous Paul Lazzaro - although he's one of the great villains of modern fiction. During the hellishness of war all he can think about is his own petty need to avenge slights done to him - but the larger, less obvious villains in this book: the tralfamadorians. They're not the type of villainous space aliens you see in most science fiction, arriving in flying saucers and bent on enslaving humanity, only to be stopped by some intrepid space cadet. (Vonnegut hated being categorized as "science fiction" because most science fiction at the time was just juvenile male wish fulfillment, which he clearly was not interested in. In fact he kind of satirizes that kind of thing in this book.) His aliens are much more fascinating that that. They reject Jesus Christ's message of universal love in favour for that of Charles Darwin (in that beings de to improve the species...atleast that's how I took it.) So, the world is structured in a way that everything that happeans is meant to happen and there's nothing we can do about it. Consequently, concern for human feelings is useless and therefore we shouldn't give a second thought to massacres and slaughter. I'm not sure if Vonnegut really believed this - maybe, he was sort of depressed himself - but I find it fascinating.

I heard about your favorite book. May I know what is it about? Anyway, mine is "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupery. It may appear to be a children's book at first glance. It could be, but in every paragraph, there's a deeper meaning that one can reflect on to. It has so many hidden keys on it that you'd actually base it on real life situations. It's definitely unique for an adult to learn from a simple Children's book. You indeeed cannot judge a book by its cover.
