Well, there are many factors that come with the compliment, like the way that it's said, the way that the man approaches you, etc. Sometimes, if a man has wandering eyes or is a bit too touchy, then I'm not going to feel flattered. But if it's genuine, then I'd be flattered and shy away a bit too.

Unfortunately I don't succumb to flattery. I will quickly ask myself if this person has a hidden agenda behind his words. Knowing well that I am no monalisa or madonna. Flattering a woman of her beauty is not going to turn her into a jelly. There are other romantic words that a man can use to set his bait if he so wishes to bed with her.

if someone tells me youre beautiful i would reply to them in this manner
"oh i know that already..u dont have to say the obvious" lol..
or
"ofcourse i am beautiful" hahahah!!

maybe he's just telling the truth..be proud when a man tells you that you're beautiful..but always bear in mine that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
