PS2s are designed to produce a TV signal and cannot be connected directly to a PC monitor. Your best option would be to buy a TV card for your PC. This is a TV tuner on a card which fits in one of the card slots in the back of a desktop PC and allows you to watch TV on your PC, often at the same time as you are using the computer for other things.
Your PS2 would plug into the aerial socket of this card and you would then use it exactly as if your monitor were a TV.

If you only have the AV cable - Video + Left and Right Audio - and not the TV signal adaptor, which connects to the aerial socket of the TV, you will need a card which accepts the Video signal and left and right audio. An alternative is the S-Video connection. Some computers (especially laptops) have this small, round S-video socket for the connection of Camcorders. This should work and I believe that cables are available for the PS2. Look on eBay and Amazon.

You need a TV Card with RCA input to do so.
You cant just connect it with a single wire since VGA or DVI have different components than RCA.
That would be your only option to play your Playstation 2 through your Computer Monitor.
I hope that helps
