Society as a whole has changed so much especially today it seems that the world has gone from bad to worse. The economy, wars, terrorism, unemploymet, greed hatred you name it.it seems this world is in a downward spiral with no end in sight. These things have affected so many people in so many ways that it becomes almost impossible to believe or remain hopeful that things will eventually turn around for the better. So my question is, what about your own world, your own life, the lives of your children grandchildren etc.Can or do you still remain a hopeful or optimistic person when everything around you seems to be falling apart? or, are you a good part of the time, frightened, worried and very pessimistic about the future of this world as a whole?

The Bible foretold all the events you mention and more for what it calls the "last days." Luke 21:10-11 (New International Version)"Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." Luke 21:31-32 (New International Version)"Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. "I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. I'm convinced that we are living at this time period. What do you think?

I could not agree with you more and to tell you the truth, i long for that day, since i truly believe this world cannot survive much longer without the intervention of it's creator. Most non-believers will say the world has always had it's wars, famines, earthquakes, etc, and we've managed to survive these things, but in my opinion things have never been as bad as they are today on every front you can think of.The signs are very obvious and sadly, mankind was given every chance to make this world a better place, unfortunately it has failed miserably.

Mankind as a whole as rejected God and nothing good can result without God. That's why Jesus encouraged his followers to be different then the world around them. John 17:14 (New International Version) I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.

At the moment the Globalists are having a field-day,with their deceptions, false flags, stealing the wealth of the Common man,the weak and the old, using the stock, currency and commodity markets. The world is burning, the latest being the French strikes and the proposed one by the Unions in the UK.Wars are on in many places. But, the opposition to the Globalists is on the rise,in the USA too. I am optimistic that these evil forces will be defeated and the Common man will have a prosperous life.

Hi, jujunme, good to see you in myLot.. For having a meaningful life these days, in spite of what happens in the world, we need to understand why there is wickedness and what God´s plan is for the mankind. He has not planned to let the evil things continue forever. He has explained in His Word why he has permitted the evil for a limited time and also how we should know when the end of it is near. I found a great article about this subject http://www.watchtower.org/e/20070915/article_02.htm You can see what the Bible says about this and I suggest you look at the scriptures in your own Bible or compare different translations in biblegateway.com Learning about these things since I was a child has helped me to be optimistic about what will happen in the future. I try to tell about these things to others so that they can also feel confident that we have something better to look forward to. Here is a poem I wrote about this: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2357560.aspx Wish you a great day!!

Hi, again Thanks a lot for the BR award, I appreciate it very much. If you have some more questions, welcome to contact me. Also welcome to comment about the Bible reading some of us have decided to do during this year. I have now finished Exodus so we are only in the beginning, but I am also reading other books like Ezra and Nehemiah as I follow a school program. Wish you happy studying..

One of the things my father use to stress was that there was no reason to worry. God has promised He'd always take care of us and He always has.

I do agree God is the caretaker of those of us who believe in his mercy and love.yet, we live in a world where He is sadly left out of the equation in a lot of peoples lives.I believe this is why the world is in the mess it's in today.and though i do try to remain an optimistic hopeful person , i am also greatly saddened by the things i see and hear about each and every day.

for me even if it seems like everything is falling apart i still remain optimistic because it does affect everything and it can be seen in my actions and thoughts. if ever i become pessimistic the condition may become worse.

I really commend you for being able to remain optimistic even at the worst of times.it seems to me that so many people have just given up or live in constant fear of what may happen next.Neither one of these things are the answer to this worlds problems. In my opinion, Sometimes we just don't think about how grateful we should be for being alive and surviving another day.Alot of people don't have that opportunity.

Well, i think we should prepare for the life on Mars. Beside it, be calm to live happily on the Earth at least one billion years. of course, not forget to save the Earth from pollution. Keep the Earth green.

To tell you the truth, Mars may be a better alternative than the world we live in here on earth. Pollution is just one of many, many things wrong with our world and getting rid of it,won't solve the much bigger problemsthe world and it's people are facing today.
