What cat litter do you prefer using?

Recently I found out that clay cat litter is horrible. Not only is it made through strip mining which hurts the environment, it is dangerous if the pet eats it as it clumps in their belly and it has cancer causing agents that can hurt both your pet and you. I have tried a few different types of environment friendly cat litter and found I like the corn based one the best (Though I am not completely happy with it). I am wondering if others use envirnment friendly cat litter and what kind? and why you like it? Thanks much!

I like the clumping stuff, yeah, it isn't the best, but when the choice is the paper one - smells nasty in a hurry, that "Swheat" - that smells nasty and STICKS to the bottom REALLY BAD! and the corn one - well, I'm DEATHLY allergic to corn, so it isn't going to cross my door way... or clumping... I get the clumping...

Oh my! Being deathly allergic to corn must suck! You definitely don't want anything to do with corn! I've tried "Yesterday news" (recycled newspaper) and it wasn't bad, but it was impossible to sifton and I found it rather smelly. We also tried the wood chips (Much like little critter shavings), they weren't bad but I found they stuck to the cats fur. Thanks for your input! Have a great night!

just looked at your web page, only 2 cats... amateur... however, on pet obesity, I have a few fat cats, the 2 most recent rescues came morbidly obese, we are trying to get them down a bit... But while the "average" cat should weigh between 8-10 lbs, Ping and Times are a few of the ones that weighs that little - and they are our SMALLER cats! Pong, Ping's brother is 12 lbs and back at a healthy weight. Taj is like 14, and he should weigh less - again like 12, but then again, he was down to 6 before we had his teeth pulled, so I'm okay with him being a little over weight - better than under like he was. Booboo probably tips the scales in the range of 15, and he's SOLID muscles!
