The Paranormal Activity Movies

So I saw Paranormal Activity 2 yesterday, and it was scary. But I don't know why people are saying it is scarier than the 1st! The 1st one is still a lot scarier than the second one for me because it had a lot more 'waiting/anticipation terror.' Not so much of that in the 2nd one.
It was still scary, I recommend you see it, but I don't think you should go in expecting to be more scared than you were during the 1st!
*FYI Katie and Micah (from the 1st) make appearances in this movie, the movies intertwine with each other.

Haven't seen Paranormal Activity 2, but I have seen the first movie. I couldn't sleep for two nights after watching the first. I kept waking up at any noises. I don't get scared easily with horror movies, but this one really did creep me out. I guess it creep me out since I do believe in demons and have had an paranormal encounter before.

Yeah the first one was really scary. Any little noises in the house at night are like...what was that!? lol But now after I saw the second one I'm happy to have dogs, because they would alert us if anything supernatural like that was in the house :P lol

Yeah, I want to get my own dog (the three we have now are really my moms) but my parents say no more animals. So I'll have to wait until I move out to get a dog too! It sucks :P lol

Haven't seen the second movie yet, but I'm sure to see it soon. I wish to have a dog, but mom doesn't want pets in our apartment sadly. I'll for sure get one when I move out though.

I saw both, I don't wanna be a bubble breaker but I didn't find any of them scary, The 1st was better indeed, for the suspense and the thrill, but kind of boring at times (too much talking from my point of view). The second one was, as many of the sequels, kind of poor after you've seen the first. If you wanna see a similar movie, but in my opinion much scarier.. check out Rec or/and Rec 2.

Yeah, I know some people don't like the 'talking' scenes in movies, but they've never really bothered me.
I didn't see Rec or Rec two, but I did see their American counterparts, Quarantine. That movie scared me too! oh my gosh! lol

After I saw Rec I heard that Quarantine was the American remake and also heard it was worse than Rec. I only watched a half an hour of Quarantine and got bored so I'm glad I didn't watch it first :) I loved horror movies since I was little, I was never scared so I think that's why I'm not moved by most of them, but some scenes can give me the chills.

I watched this last week along with my partner and my 17 year old son at the cinema.
It was a good film but was spoiled slightly by the teenage girls laughing one minute and then screaming the next behind us.
But would defiantly recommend it.
I have only seen part of the first one so went in with no expectations.

What part of the first one did you see? You gonna watch all of it now that you saw the second one?
I like going to movies and having an audience watch the movie with me, but when the people in the audience are annoying or disrespectful it is bad. There was a guy behind me that kept burping through out Paranormal Activity 2. So rude!

Really? I was expecting this to be a lot more scary than the first one. I watched the first one alone in my room. I wasn't really that scared with it. Maybe i'll watch another movie besides this one.

You watched the first one by yourself, at home, and you weren't scared!? Wow...you're brave! lol
I'm not saying the second one is a bad movie, it's good to watch. It just isn't as scary as the first (for me)..since you didn't think the 1st one was scary and I did, maybe you'll think the 2nd one is scarier. :)

I'm not really brave. It's just that the movie sucked. I'll pass on the second one.

Are you talking about the first one?
It's about this woman who has a demon 'attached' to her. The demon has been following her around since she was a little girl, and now she and her boyfriend are recording the happenings around their house (especially when they sleep).

You know, the first movie just didn't do much for me to be honest :/ I think the scariest part was when she was dragged out of her bed and when, at the end, she screamed for her boyfriend and her voice sounded all demented and whatnot. But that was the only even slightly frightening parts for me :/ I haven't seen Paranormal Activity 2 but I'm sure I will just to see it, LOL.

Her voice was demented when she was screaming at the end!? I do not remember that! If I ever talk myself into watching it again I'll have to listen for that!
The scariest part (although it isn't really a 'part') for me was the footsteps. Every time I heard the footsteps I was cringing in my seat. So scary! lol
Another scary part for me was when she walked out of bed, and then the boyfriend got up and went around the house looking for her. Was so worried she was just gonna pop out somewhere! lol

I haven't seen the first Paranormal Activity movie yet. My sister saw it and said it was really scary! I love scary movies but my husband isn't a real fan, so we just never saw it. I'd kinda like to see it now that there is a 2nd one out and well I wouldn't mind seeing that one either! We shall see - maybe I can talk him into it for Halloween! lol Or I just may have to watch them alone!

Oh really. My friend was going to see this second one too, but I don't know how it goes. I might not go to the cinema to see it, I might expect it from the DVD instead.

It's a good movie, just like the first. But it just doesn't have as much a feeling of dread as the 1st one did (for me at least).
