What is better ASP or PHP?

As we know, ASP runs only on windows (it runs on Linux but with minimal capability because of its incompatibility) while PHP runs on both platforms. I would say that ASP is more costly than PHP because it's not an open source. When it comes to its coding style, ASP is more like of a VB syntax while the other one is more like of a C++. Well, for me ASP is ideal for complex web applications. I haven't tried much of PHP so my vote would be on ASP. Besides, I am also more familiar with its coding style or its syntax. God Bless..

i like both but i think that nowadays php is the most used and improved for web application or website as well!!it is easy to use and you cna create great features..

For me as a web programmer and designer, I usually use PHP for it is easier and comfortable to use.
