there are some toilet that you have to pay 5php some places ask for 10php. as you pay the fee when you are a lady they will give you a ticket and tissue paper. but the tissue was manually folded with bare hands and they will give you the ticket on the tissue. the hands that they use to get the tissue is the hand that they use to get the money. my wife likes to use the toilet with pay for it is cleaner and well sanitized. the problem is the tissue that they give out is no longer. i know ladies wipe their private parts after they pee and how in the world will they use that if it was folded manually. my wife never use tissue from that, she makes sure she has her own wipes and tissue.

hi se7^^;
it's so funny and sad that poorer countries like ours need to collect fees for use of toilets and pay for the tissue paper as well but other countries' toilets are free and lots of rolled tissue inside.
anyway, i remember before, we pay 5php for the ticket and tissue..not the ticket alone. i mean, the ticket says only 3php but the collector demands 5php because of the tissue. so if women have their own wipes then they can refuse the tissue and just pay for the appropriate amount indicated on the ticket. the collectors are just trying to make extra money for themselves by selling those manually folded tissue as you said, and those are not part of the maintenance fee.

If I knew in advance that a toiletry room was not clean enough I would bring my own. If I ever have the misfortune to encounter such a problem I would not frequent the place again.
Shame though as hygiene should be considered first in all public restrooms as it will make and or break a place if it is not clean enough.

most of the toilet that is like that are the malls. it is clean inside but the problem is the tissue handling. so me and my wife always bring our personal things. specially that we also have a four year old son that sometimes needed more wipes for his personal needs. in restaurant everything is clean or else like you said it will break their place if it is not sanitized. thanks a lot for the response.

hi why on earth do they hand out free tissues, that is unsanitary here in the US public restrooms hav toilet tissue on the holders in the stalls, we do not have to pay for tissue either but it is not doled out to us after someones handled it with hands that may have gross bacteria on them. In your situation I too wo uld take a new roll of toliet tissue with me as I would not feel safe with paper that has been handled by other people first.We also in some places havecoin takers on the doors to women's restroom but the f ree rolls of tissue are placed in the holders and nobody touchs and folds a small dab of tissues. thats just not healthy at all. I know the locked restrooms are usually kept spotless but they should be toilet tissue on holders in each stall. there is a real minimum of handling the roll that way.a t home it is he same I put a fresh roll on the holder and only the very edges are touched.

there are also places here in the philippines where toilet tissues are on the holders in the stall, but some people over use it or sometimes play with it without even thinking that this is needed to be used properly. we are in a third world so thats how painful it is to accept it my dear friend. there are also places with vendo machines that has sanitary napkins and small dab of tissue too. so when we go out we always bring personal things like this rather than use the not clean ones. thanks a lot for the response.

That is So not sanitary to have someone handle the tissue paper after handling money. I wouldnt take it for sure.
I didnt know you had to pay for toilet paper in some countries?!?!? Its still free here in Canada. We have rolls in the stalls. They are not under lock and keys though as some people were taking them home !!! Not sure why as the toilet paper in public bathrooms is not the most soft one!!

there are still places here that you can find tissue papers on rolls installed inside the cubicle. the tissue paper is not for sale but this just goes with the ticket (as what i know) its just their way (maybe) so people will not waste the tissue, but the managers of this malls needs to explain also to their staff how to handle it properly. some people just doing their job but not in a right and proper way. my wife takes it with the ticket and when she gets in the toilet she puts it in the trash bin or use it to wipe the toilet seat. we always bring hand sanitizers and our own tissue and wipes atleast we know it is clean and it is soft. thanks a lot for the response.

Make sure you are bringing your own personal things with you to assure that it's really clean and safe to use. If I were to choose of course I would rather use my handkerchief to wipe. lol

Oh yes, this has been a concern to me. So I make sure that I have tissue in my bag whenever I go out. Most public toilets in our country don’t have tissue and yes if there’s a tissue available usually you have to pay for it. I haven’t encountered this manually folded tissue yet, but this is very unhygienic.
I have been to different countries and most public toilets have loads of tissue inside the tissue holder and you don’t have to pay for it.

Yeah, your concern is right, any type of germs can be there. I was reading a paper last time, in which they mentioned about a lot of diseases transmitted through toilets. Safety is in our hands, so it is very wise idea to keep tissues with yourself, it should be made a habit because at any moment you can need this not only for toilets but many other purposes...
