I have never had a blackberry bold or an iphone, so it is really hard to say which one is better. It seems though that the iphone is more popular and lots of people hae it. My son was going to get an iphone in December when his contract was up, but he got a different phone, and stayed with verizon. He had a blackberry, but it malfunctioned and he would never have another one. I did have a blackberry curve at one time, but I didn't like it all that much. I would never have another blackberr either. My phone is a smartphone, and a Samsang Fascinate which is one of Glaxy S phones, as there are 4 ot them, as each of the major carriers has one but with different names. I really don't know what phone out of the 2 phones you mentioned, but maybe other users might be able to help you better. Take care, and have a very good day.

But are any of the apps useful? Or is it just kind of "good to have" stuff that no-one really uses? What are the best apps out there?

I've tried 3 different version of Iphones. When they first came out with it, then 3G & finally 3Gs. I didn't like any of them. First, I didn't like the battery life on it. I use my phone for work as well so I do tend to use it a lot. I had to charge the phone 2 - 3 times just to get through the day. And that's if I was near an outlet. I know there are other phones that have very short battery life. But at least they give you an option to change the battery to extended ones. Iphones don't even give you an option to change the battery. 2nd, I didn't like the feel of the phone. I don't know, it felt like a toy to me. I guess it's more of a personal preference thing. 3rd, I didn't like how the messaging is set up. I don't have any complaints against AT&T as a service provider but iphones have left me with bad taste. It constantly dropped calls. I know it wasn't the coverage because my co-worker standing right next to me with flip phone on AT&T didn't seem to have any problems. I do have blackberry bold - 9700 - with T-mobile & I'm not saying it's the best phone in the market but it does the job & does it well. I have an extended battery on it & now I charge it once every 2 days instead of being tied to wall outlet & sitting in the car. Iphone 4 might have improved but from my experiences, I would never get another iphone again, and because of the experience I had with iphone, now I feel funny about AT&T as well.

i don't like iphone in general i think is too much expensive in relation to the functionalities and in many cases this device never gave me something more to justify its prie in my opinion!!
From the other hands blackberry bold is nice and it is a best seller as regrads palm phones...surely it is different from iphone also because iphone is more consumer and bold is much more for business needs!!you should count that on blackberry multimedia were not so good because they created their phones for business mainly if we exclude from this the storm and torch version which are more expensive than bold or curve which they ahve a different target such as business...so if i must choose these 2 probably i will choose the blackberry bold i judge it a little useful than iphone..surely cellphones are a personal deivce so it depends also from your needs and general tastes..

I have a blackberry, not a bold but a curve, and I have to say that I love it...it is my second blackberry phone. I havent even looked into the iphone since there was so many problems the first week or so it came out... I dont like being getting phones that are new before they are truly tested for all the kinks and mishaps they have, as I dont have time to be dealing with things that dont work right away.
I have been very happy with my blackberry...and I was told from the dealer that the difference between an iphone, droid, and blackberry was the entertainment packages really....the apps for a droid or iphone are more entertainment/game apps as a blackberry is more of a business phone, true we dont have as many apps but the apps I have work and are more useful in everyday life even as a full time mom.
It would be your choice in what you are looking for in a phone, you have to really talk to the dealer of your choice and go with the type of phone that would be what fits your lifestyle.
good luck in what you get and choose, I am sure you will enjoy whatever you get and fits your needs!!!

i chose blackberry and i bought the curve and i didn't regret buying it.. i really love the phone.. but i haven't activate my BIS because there's an additional charge on my plan... and i've been doubting to activate it because for me, i can still use my applications without the BIS that's why i'm still doubtful on that..

In my opinion, the Blackberry is not an attractive phone. It is awfully wide, and the buttons are fairly small. I would prefer the iPhone due to the fact that it has very efficient touch screen capabilities, and it is a lot more attractive if you ask me. It also works as an iPod on top of it, so that would come in handy.

There are 2 reasons i choose iphone compared to blackberry bold:
1. Trackball - This is definitely a source of problem, because it can easily get sticky and collect dirt in the inner side of the trackball and make it unscrollable. Trackball had been history, i dont know why RIM decides to use it again anyway.
2. Screen size - Due to the use of thumb board, the screen size is reduced to half of its total length. iPhone has larger screen size and this is very comfortable.

I would say the Blackberry Bold. The Iphone is too thick for my liking, it does have a lot of different capabilities, but I can save that for when I buy a laptop. I don't like texting using touch screen, I like buttons. While the Blackbery buttons are small they aren't hard to press. You also get BBM, which means you can basically IM anyone from anywhere in the world, without the international charges and such that you would get from texting.
