Would you like to have your own Social Network Site?

There are lots of social networking site that are very popular now a days and I had one social networking site before which I really earn a lot from it. I only stopped because I cannot manage the site anymore. I was studying that time so I have to give it up. Right now I was planning start a new social networking site again but I think I would just enjoy facebook. Did ever thought of having a social networking site? Haven't you dreamed of having one?

maintaining a social network site is an costly affair,how you have managed it when you are studying,what is the amount you have spent to manage the site,what attractions you have made their to join public in your site,now a days people are running behind money,if we cannot offer money,no body is interested to join in our sites,best of luck once again you wish to start social network site,have a nice day

Wow i admire you for that. :) it's very nice to socialize through the net and is very practical too. It's a way of making new friends and learning new things. Social networking is worth of our time. If i have lots of resources, i would. For now, mylot would be enough. :)

Thank you for that but I changed my mind since they told me here that it takes a lot of time and effort. I agree with them, money is involved too. Well, I guess I should start with a small forum and give some good benefits to the members.

I wouldn't want to own my own social networking site because theres quite often bad publicity about them over security and some people on them just using them to meet people they shouldn't be. I wouldn't need a job with all the money i could make off it, but then it would take up as much time as a full time job anyway.

Oh, that makes me think. Hehe, I wouldn't want other people blaming me about failed security. I might fail on that part in the future. I don't wanna have a bad reputation because of what I did.

There are so many social networking sites available for us to join. It seems like there is a new one popping up nearly every week. i don't think i would want my own site. i'm not sure i could compete.@ellyse2003 (1463)

I don't want to compete with other websites, I'm just doing it to enjoy online networking where I can add programs that I really want and enjoy and to invite people that are very willing to learn about online marketing.

It's very easy to think on starting a small social networking site but having even a small site take a lot of time and effort to make it successful. I am planning to start my own forum instead of having a site where I'll not be able to maintain it alone.

I have never thought about having one myslef, but in looking at some of the replies it seems they think it would be too costly (and time consuming) to run. However, if it is making good money, would'nt it be worth it? Since you have done it before, would you say it takes a lot of money to start?

It seems like a good idea for those who have the time, commitment, and patience to do it. I would find myself wandering off onto other sites and I would never get anything done. I do not think it is my forte. I do not think I would follow through well. I like to do things on my own time, and owning a social network would be very time consuming. I am a student as well, so that is another reason why it would not be a good fit for me. Too much would be on my plate.

Having a social networking site is like having a baby beside you. To take care of and look for anything you think that would be good for the site in the future. I just want to know other people's opinion about this. I think, I'll just start my own forum since everybody is right. It's hard to maintain it. I agree with all of you.

Yeah, that would be nice.
But I like to just collect the revenue, not be involved in the day to day development and maintenance of the site.

So, you don't want to moderate it? I think forum would be a good start if we want to make a social networking site.
